Hail
Young Nikolai took
photographs
of them falling from
the sky on his
new second hand
iPhone ..
He showed them
to us later,
before the crops had
sufficient time
to fully recover their
composure ..
Indeed, it seems they
had all been
flattened in a matter
of seconds ..
At least one cow
was killed
and every single one
of the village
terracotta pan tiles
had been
simultaneously
shattered along with
several unprotected
car headlights
and windshields ..
Actually, many
of the village girls
had said,
from where they hid,
some of those
hailstones, were as
big as a grown
man’s fist, but they
hit at least
a dozen times harder ..

Having seen hailstones and other irregular weather events....how can anyone be in denial?
There are still those who believe if they sail in the same direction for long enough, they will fall write off the end .. but yeah' it beggars belief .. Still, wot about them poor young village girls eh' ..
Wot poor young village girls? Villages remain everywhere....
the ones who found it necessary to share with a relative outsider, an Englishman no less the comparison they felt able to make between the impact of a hailstone the size of a lump hammer and some blokes fist ..
Not just in villages - male violence a big issue here right now (when not talking about the US elections of course...)
An expressive write N.
Thanks a bundle Steven .. Glad you could see & feel it my way .. Neville
Nature strikes back. Am I hypersensitive Neville or are there some hidden hints here? (new second hand) does this refer to weather that we see as new but is really second hand, just comming back around? Climate's mood changes like any person and although we don't need to provoke it we can expect it to change regardless. The allusion to the fists at the end bring to mind the erratic mood of an abusive person and how nature strikes back with much greater fury. Lovely write Neville.
Thanks a million for reading between the lines my friend .. I was wondering whether anyone might spot and pick up from the trail I covertly left behind .. Neville
We had hail last Sunday⦠the uncovered car park has been deserted since.
From what I have heard and from where I am standing, it's lucky to have survived .. Neville
Indeed! It could be a brutal way to go.
Well, my 2 cents worth is this...It's Mother Nature's tree trunk kicking us in the you know what for not seeing the writing on the wall. But...a very well penned write N. ππ
The mind boggles, I wonder wot else you can get for 2 cents these days .. Thank you immensely mate .. ππ
Careful wot you wish for mate...π
Whoa, big hailstones. They are very dangerous. Can be killers. Global warming is responsible for the frequency of this kind of happening and to some extent the intensity, When will the Population of the planet wake up and do something? Thanks for posting this, we all need to be aware of these happenings. - Phil A.
Global warming while extremely serious in its very own right, is really a global warning for all manner of shite .. Thanks for standing in my corner Phil .. your presence is muchly appreciated sir .. Neville
Excellent write Nevilie
Thank you Tony π
You're welcome
This happened the other day somewhere where they said the hailstones were as big a golf balls. What is happening to this world!
Andy
