Hail

Neville

Hail

Young Nikolai took

photographs

of them falling from

the sky on his

new second hand

iPhone ..

He showed them

to us later,

before the crops had

sufficient time

to fully recover their

composure ..

Indeed, it seems they

had all been

flattened in a matter

of seconds ..

At least one cow

was killed

and every single one

of the village

terracotta pan tiles

had been

simultaneously

shattered along with

several unprotected

car headlights

and windshields ..

Actually, many

of the village girls

had said,

from where they hid,

some of those

hailstones, were as

big as a grown

man’s fist, but they

hit at least

a dozen times harder ..

Having seen hailstones and other irregular weather events....how can anyone be in denial?

There are still those who believe if they sail in the same direction for long enough, they will fall write off the end .. but yeah' it beggars belief .. Still, wot about them poor young village girls eh' ..

Wot poor young village girls? Villages remain everywhere....

        • Neville

the ones who found it necessary to share with a relative outsider, an Englishman no less the comparison they felt able to make between the impact of a hailstone the size of a lump hammer and some blokes fist ..

Not just in villages - male violence a big issue here right now (when not talking about the US elections of course...)

Nature strikes back. Am I hypersensitive Neville or are there some hidden hints here? (new second hand) does this refer to weather that we see as new but is really second hand, just comming back around? Climate's mood changes like any person and although we don't need to provoke it we can expect it to change regardless. The allusion to the fists at the end bring to mind the erratic mood of an abusive person and how nature strikes back with much greater fury. Lovely write Neville.

Whoa, big hailstones. They are very dangerous. Can be killers. Global warming is responsible for the frequency of this kind of happening and to some extent the intensity, When will the Population of the planet wake up and do something? Thanks for posting this, we all need to be aware of these happenings. - Phil A.

                        • Neville
