“The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.”
Could this perhaps be prophetic or what?
Climate change denial for short term gain;
Climate change for nitwits, probably not.

Dave I remember well that song in that my parents played it frequently. Do I hear much deeper meaning here? Is it the climate change of the next line or the changing inaccurate language of today? This time you got me.
Dunno how I 'got' you, Soren. Not into cryptic commentary. Simple statement coupling flash floods in Spain's Valencia region with climate change. Challenge that if you wish........😊
“Now once again! where does it rain?” (On the plain! On the plain!)
“And where’s that soggy plain?” (In Spain! In Spain! )
Tweren’t funny for this week’s catastrophe- “apocalyptic” the news reported.
P’raps quite prophetic, indeed.
Just heard “apocalyptic” appear on radio as I sit here early morning. Will join 'unprecedented' with increasing frequency.... aaah!
Great poem bravo
Thanks for your positive response.
Now please let me know how you arrive at "The author of the poem doesn't allow comments" is your position with respect to your own posts, but allows you to comment on others (not always as laudatory as here)?.
I am a man of duality, I’m closed off but still open to others. Helps me focus on my writing and enjoy the writing of others even more.
From where I sit, it feels like an unfair arrangement. You are not open to others if you are unable to accept responses to your own posts.
Yet here I am speaking to you sigh… I’m always open to messages. I apologize..
This place is an open forum. Some just use it as place to park their work and don't comment on others work. That seems legit to me. However, if you wish to add something to a thread, particularly if it is anything other than totally laudatory, then IMHO you should make yourself open too.
But I could be wrong, so my advice is put it out there, and see what others think.
If only life was as fair my friend
If we do not adapt, SOON, we all die, but I suspect we'll wait until it's too late and then cry. - Phil A.
My feeling is that it has been too late for the last ten or twenty years, Phil. The pursuit of 'Growth' remains, it seems a political necessity,... those forest conflagrations North and South push carbon and heat into the atmosphere at increasing rates....
Why don't it fall on the hills much in Spain? 'Tis what I want to know! lol. At risk of not being completely Sir Orchi NS I offer this question.
Remains 98%Sir Orchi NS. Please make some effort to reduce it to under 50%. I Suppose I can be grateful that KP and Botox have not been dragged in here, but I would really like you to try a little harder...
Credit where credit's due - you have contributed to my thread - which ultimately I must greet with gratitude.
Missy, You left a comment which I 've lost. So sorry, But thanks for your unqualified approval.
Every time I attempt to clean up the mess created by using this particular medium it nearly causes me to lose the very text I'm trying to rectify. I've accidentally deleted comments too many times for comfort yet still try to keep mine "clean" from those pesky typo slashes and etc.
Many thanks, Missy.
You're very welcome, Sir. De rain falling mainly in ze plains being initially popularized by that favorite flick crafted off Shaw's play Pylgmalion is both a reminder of the professor's goal to rectify the flower girl's language per his duty and also a likely reality to boot, the latest in that region a notice justifying the same, shall we say? Either way, you're forever more or less of a regular riot and I couldn't but love this bitty number lately added to your collection. Thank you very much for sharing.
Makes me think of ‘ my fair lady ‘ .. those lines .. ‘ rain in Spain ‘ beautiful film
Thanks for your call, but I've failed. About climate change and the recent floods in Spain
Good words DAve and so meaningful after the floods in Valencia. Will it ever get better!
Andy
I don't think so, Andy......
I really feel for them folk .. and for those who know and love them .. another global warning .. or wot
Will be somewhere else next week... When it comes to these matters 'pessimist' doesn't describe me adequately........
........................................... Clearly ..
To be clear (and unambiguous) is my goal.
👍👍
Awesome poem,
Short and succinct!
These hurricanes and
tornado's will drive
folks to drink! 😳
Things are no longer
rosy and pink,? 😢
Thanks for scaring
I mean sharing!! 😃
Best regards ✌️ peace Thad
You seem to be working overtime today Thad (or is that yesterday or tomorrow? - whatever).
Do you get those big twisters in your neck of the woods? If so, why don't you build underground? Become a rabbit?🙃
i like the way the other lines followed so naturally - and spoke a universal truth
keep writing, enjoying the flow
Nah - don't flow on from there Nafisa -You seem like a sensitive soul. What follows could in all probability be usefully ignored by you....
one thing i agree is that yes - i am sensitive - which is good when you are writing, but in actuality can be a danger signal - better kept in check.
Well I've given you fair warning. I'll dig a ditch and lay landmines, shall I? Just jump the next two posts and you should be OK.
your landmines can't hurt because we are in different continents..ha ha
maybe missiles would do the trick, will use those thrown at me, to it to ride on...
jumping posts is a good option that i sometimes feel needs to be implemented
