I told ya it's Ch.......

orchidee

I told ya I'm sure it's Christmas next week

It must be

I got another card today

And - believe it or not -

From the SAME person!

Now look, this is getting silly

I've not even written any Carol-Poems for this year yet

And understandably

As there are about 40 days to go!

It will cost a fortune on stamps

And sending them out this early

But - you know - we're all ready now

KP, Fido, and I here -

Expecting an Easter card in January!

This is true - yes!

Not in the genre of 'fantasy'

Let's go the whole hog

Such as - Bonfire Night in May

Midsummers Day in February

Put the clocks forward in June

Spring Bank Holiday in September

{Add your own ones here}

And Christmas every November!

LOL

lol. I have a question. Are you able to log in to my poetic side as normal? Today I had an issue logging in. It sent me to word press and had me update a lot of the website which I do not understand

    • Doggerel Dave

Same here. I'm still not quite sure how I gained access, - much desperation and clicking, but it was not by the normal method (username- p/w etc) I have emailed Word Press re this.

Same here. I was on the normal site one minute and the next it disappeared into something else then directed me to Wordpress

Thanks GS. Well, I have a message saying I need to enable cookies, but it lets me in, whether I have enabled them or not - I'm not sure if I have or not. Doh!

Orchi - Is Carol the person you got two cards from? Sounds like she needs some gentle counselling rather than putting all the blame on me... you did send me the post...well it turned up on my screen anyway....

          • orchidee

            Yes, Carol, lol.

I knew it was all a plot by the establishment to keep us all confused and disorganized to as to maintain order and pilpher our pockets. Another corporate takeover. Good write Orchi

              Thanks SB. lol.

Time is for you to arrange Orchi as it is for each of us.

He might send another card today - who knows?! lol. He should write in it 'Merry Ch......'

              • Tom Dylan

An amusing write even if you've dropped the Ch word again! 🙂 And love the idea of moving other dates of the year! I always think we should move New Year so it's further away from Ch... Maybe in March? That'd be nice. 🙂

                • orchidee

Thanks Tom. I can't say Ch.... in full too often, or goldfinch will shoot me, if I say it before December. lol. There's a country or two that celebrate Christmas on January 6th or 7th.

                  • Tom Dylan

Oh yes, that's true, many celebrate the Epiphany rather than the 25th Dec.. and Chinese New Year, that comes after a nice break from Christmas. 🙂 And yeah, I am with Goldfinch, no Ch word, no music, no trees or decorations. I also try and avoid the adverts on TV till December too. 🙂

                    • orchidee

I wish some stores would stop wasting money on naff Christmas adverts! lol. M&S are snooty as usual - 'it's not just any food, it's M&S food'.

maybe you should go call on whoever it is and do a welfare check .. just saying ..

                      • orchidee

It could be a case of the person having more money/wealth than sense!

The early birds at least saw to it that the cards are sent, supposedly. I bought a bunch and every year forego the project for busyness. Nobody cares. This is a lovely romp, though, all in good humor and excellently rendered with charming poignancy and great imagery. Me likes. Thank you very much for sharing.

And I thought I was early, often sending out cards in early December! But, yes, I will get my hot cross buns in early, in January - they'll go mouldy by Easter. lol.
