sorenbarrett

Locked behind dark storage shed doors

the smell of old rat urine

in gnawed paper shavings

swarming with silverfish

memory's graveyard of holes,

past emotions now bleached

in faded yellowing photos

cobwebs,

dust, roaches

and droppings

all that's left

You sure got the edge over many of em .. You are also the only person other than me that I know, that has referenced silver fish (the kind I suspect you mean) in a poem ..

      • sorenbarrett

Thanks Neville couldn't help but think of that after cleaning out an old shed the other day and all the old memories like Jonah in the bellies or silverfish.
