Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
I will return early January.
I will return early January.
Bicycles don’t have pedals anymore.
Nonsense actually, when I read it back -
Just not the primary source of power, for
Now it’s a lithium battery pack.
v
Riders unlicensed on e-bikes and scooters
Possess equipment likewise unsorted.
These may be respectable commuters,
But also firebugs, sources reported.
v
This freedom really needs rules to curtail:
Tests on riders and gear they acquire -
Riders for skill road rules or fail;
Batteries fit for safe usage, not fire.

- Comment from author about the poem: Just a Public Service announcement. Massive increase in fires from dud batteries or misguided attempts to find a cheap way to recharge. Riders who.....

So very true Dave, they can be a right pain in the proverbial.
Andy
So true, Andy - the whole situation , unregulated profiteering and general stupidity just beggars belief.
Many years ago I rode a real bicycle, and the only time I was crashed into was by another cyclist... a bit of a bee in my bonnet, I'm afraid
.....And I haven't really ranted on about the fires yet....
I’m going to get a bike without a battery… call me retro or old school… if it means I’ll be saving a fire from happening! Good poem
You may well be fitter for it.
Thanks for your call (even if I can't return the complement!)
Watch out for electric wheelchairs on pavements, that come at ya at about 100mph!
You would be about ready to invest in one yourself and play dodgems, Wouldn't you orchi..?
Yep, I'm gonna get one and mow everyone down who gets in my way! lol.
That's the spirit - clear the pavements.....😂
Gives a whole new meaning to burning up the roads. Good write Dave
Thanks Soren - not only does it expand the concept, but also expanding are the number of house fires....
I quite agree and the riders should be made to pay a realistic annual road tax and the bike should be MOT'd .. serviced and appropriately insured ..
But here where I am, there's nothing - have motorised bicycle will travel.
The position re e-scooters varies - I note very recently New South Wales has made e-scooters illegal on public roads but the other States mostly allow them.
Excellent
Cheers.
You're welcome
As far as I am concerned these horrible inventions are a pain in the ar*se. Wouldn’t be on the road at all if it was up to me. Anyways they should all pay road tax and have insurance cover and of course they don’t. Also I keep hearing alot about batteries causing fires. There seem to be a hell of a lot of them recently. Greetings Dave the Dawg.
Greetings Cassie Lassie. Thanks for your endorsement. Also troubling is no tests for riders. Pain in the rectum most definitely.
👍👍
Great poem and warning
I'd take to heart! 🤔
I dang near got hit by one
at Wal-Mart! 😧
Everything has batteries
these days.
Even 'vibrators' too. 😱
I kin imagine if one a
them exploded,
no more pussy for you!¿😳
Thanks for sharing my friend!
Best regards ✌️ Thad
Thanks Thad-
This is one of many modern improvements
Which do not help control my bowel movements.😰
Great write!!
Well thanks for that, Neilton.👍
Nothing like losing manpower, eh? Electricity has me wary thanks to all the devices I've suffered the loss of years ago, leaving me stranded for the loss of the same until I love it, but remain wary. Lovely tribute to the latest in electronic victories, rendered winsomely in your style with excellent imagery. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for your support, Missy. This battery technology has a long way to go.
