Snow Of Beauty Sonnet.

Goldfinch60

I looked out of the window this morning,

Everything was covered in this white stuff,

The winter had come without a warning,

So today I’d have to get out my muff.

Out to the car I went, shovel to hand,

Clearing out this white stuff around the car,

Scraping the snow of which I had not planned,

We needed the car to not go too far.

So down the town I drove on the white roads,

Not much traffic around to be seen,

Into the car park where spaces there were loads,

The white stuff covered the park in a sheen.

Yes the snow had come to cause us new hell,

But its beauty covered us with its spell.

There was a bit of snow here yesterday but then it turned back to rain . Yeah snow is nice but not helpful if there’s so much

    • Goldfinch60

No, it is not helpful CD, but when it first lays it shows Nature' beauty. Thank you.

it's bloomin freezing my end but no snow yet .. reckon it's too bitter .. we don't often get much around here .. some say we are lucky but the kid in some of us say that's tosh ..

Yes I admit it is a bit fresh in the Midlands as well Neville and I do not normally feel the cold.

No snow here though it was sleeting yesterday. I have to say, I love that feeling of waking up to look out the window on a scene of soft snow fall. I love the purity and light of those moments. Not so good for the motorist though. Have a great Wednesday Andy. Make a snowball for me will ya, pretty please .

        • Goldfinch60

Thank you Cassie, I did not make a snowball but a friend saw a snowman standing in the park.

Once again, something beautiful found in an annoyance. I sleep done and finding a silver lining, even in a snow cloud.

          • Goldfinch60

So very true soren, thank you.

A frigid crystalline hell…. Oh how I miss winter and how I wish for spring!

            • Goldfinch60

It can be arqios, but the snow has gone and it is now a bit cool.

This is a great poem. Well constructed. It is a mixed bag snow. For some it is beautiful others think it is beautiful. Others see it as both.I am not a fan of walking anywhere in the snow. Enjoyed this poem mi amigo

              • Goldfinch60

Thank you David, I agree with you but it did look beautiful first thing in the morning.

Delightful - from a warm dwelling behind a clean window. Agreed under those conditions only, Andy.

Lincoln's Land was told it'd come after dark and it's been lightly waltzing here with promised inches tomorrow. Dis shore is both prettily rendered with such a happy passel of excellent imagery and a none too subtly haunting poignancy, I don't knew how to thank you. Thank you very much, Sir.

staying in the tropics, i have witnessed snow only once -in Switzerland - but always find the videos and messages shared by others make me want to enjoy it some more [ before it melts and turns to slush ]
                              enjoyed envisaging the scene

Snow is beautiful when it first comes but when it gets walked upon it changes, thank your for your comments Nafisa.

                                  yes, so i have heard
enjoy the pristine beauty before it becomes slush
                                  take care
