Amaterasu
A view, through evening mist
is perhaps
the kindest time of day to look
at her and see
what might otherwise be more
than her beauty ..
Just add a touch of candlelight
to catch a glimpse
of transient perfection, indeed,
the rim around
her halo shines brightest when
I close my eyes
tightly to take, all her radiance in ..

Oh! Rendered with a strong and lively poignancy which transports the dainty imagery beautifully adorning it to heights that leave me nearly gasping for a breath from the heady indulgence, ah, where hast thou taken me dear writer? Thank you very much for sharing.
I dunno but I shall come n join you as soon as I work out ya co-ordinates .. Cheers Missy
Well, you can't mean KP, unless you mean radiance of old trouts! lol
there's always something fishy going on with you, isn't there
The Shinto sun goddess one of the three precious children. The moon and the storm may make a mist as well. Beautifully written, Neville.
Many thank you's sb .. such visits are invariably appreciated .. & muchly .. Neville
Let’s take a dive into deep waters for a brief moment: Inner vision is a profound ability to perceive and internalize moments of transcendent beauty and significance beyond the physical realm. It allows us to capture the ethereal essence of experiences, transforming them into deeply personal, spiritual reflections that resonate within our soul. This inward gaze, like that of the observer of Amaterasu, embraces an interplay of light and shadow, presence and absence, revealing the eternal and divine within fleeting moments of our lives. Or perhaps she was just so dazzling so as to effect such a meditation.
I think you just about said all that could possibly be said on the matter .. I take it that's a yes .. and if my hunch is off mark then I'm gonna thank you regardless .. thank you arqios .. Neville
Looking directly at a Goddess is tricky business.
I prefer a side glance. Well done, Neville.
Probably very sensible Jez .. cheers .. Neville
Excellent write Nevilie
many thank you's Tony
You're welcome
A wonderful write! Because it be day, and cloudy... I find myself gazing with my inner eye! And, truthfully, probably not too wise to stare directly at this goddess! LOL! Loved this poem! Great job! 👏
I know wot ya mean T .. mine are blue too .. thanks for stopping by .. Neville
Yes...these blue eyes be most fragile...lol! Of course, I changed my comment slightly, because truthfully, not wise to stare with any color eyes! LOL!
Just lovely. Had to look this one up Neville. Her function to bring light to the world - the Shinto sun goddess. Reminds me of a beautiful sunset after a summer day and yet this has to be a romantic metaphor. Gorgeous poetry. .
The fact that you went to the trouble of checking means the world Cassie .. thank you .. Neville
Close quarters, without an intervening veil or mist can be uncomfortable in my limited experience. In this instance the separate constituents form the perfect whole. Rounded smoothly for me, Neville.
Cheers Dave .. I need to check on what strength lotion I need to stock up on when I pop over .. date, as yet unconfirmed, so no rush 😎👍
Steady on Neville: I cannot advise re SPF lotions as I have never used them. My perhaps irrational beliefs include they couldn’t possibly work and who knows if them chemicals is harmful.
As for attire: Should you be nutty (sorry – ill advised) enough to visit in summer then perhaps only a space type suit with internal air conditioning can be advised.
For general use: Start with hat, sunnies, close woven long sleeves, but light open necked shirts also, pullover and overcoat, wader type boots Sturdy boots if you can afford them, lifejacket – approx. three suitcases should suffice.
With climate change you never know. Still spring today temp in the very late 20’s; Tomorrow (Sunday) promises thirties.
Disturbed weather could upset the Antarctic, it throws a hissy fit and chucks a lot of snow and ice in our direction sometime.
I hope this helps…😜
An ode to a Shinto Goddess of the Sun, and of womanly perfection. Your last line did it for me, expressing the power of her light. A wonderful poem. - Phil A.
I am so glad you caught that Phil and for letting me know .. Cheers, Neville
"her halo shines brightest when I close my eyes" indeed. Not sure why, maybe just dreams. Nice work.
Try staring directly into the sun .. then you will know why .. (actually don't) just take my word for it .. thank you .. take care and write on .. Neville
May that radiance never leave her or you Neville.
Andy
I shall adore her at least until sundown & she's off again, tho' safe in the knowledge she will return .. cheers
