So long ago it happened,
Cowboys would ride their horses,
Ride them during the day
Being able to see,
See where they were going.
But when the darkness fell
They could not see,
So they hung lanterns,
Hung lanterns on the saddles.
They could then see,
See the trail more easily.
That is when it started
And was the earliest form,
The earliest form of navigation,
Called saddle light navigation.

Well it is really good to know how it all began - I see we are up to date with those luminescent hoops which allow you to play croquet all night, Andy. 👍
So true Dave.
The only problem is that sometimes when we strike the balls our lights go out. LOL

Good write, Andy. Horses know where they are going. They can see for miles, (in the dark) hear and smell forever. A bale of hay, fresh water, people talking, other horses. You sleep in the saddle and they will wind up in one of those places. Horses and stables are one event.
Thank you Jerry for the information,, much appreciated.

Funny Andy. You carried it through to the ending. You also gave some great imagery.
Most kind Cassie, thank you.
