Although I am all for equality
these days,
I can’t help but think, every
now and again,
it might be quite nice to have
a few slaves around to
keep all the servants company ..

Even though it is a comment from a serious poster, it has a heart symbol. I wonder if it's meant to be a hieroglyph.
the white heart was placed deliberately & almost as if by reflex .. it having now begun to be something of a symbolic kitemark or personal signature of mine .. but thank you for noticing and for the very kind visit .. Neville
Well, I learned the truth about MPS!
Yes m'Lud, LP always says to me. I insist on it! lol.
I guess you must have something for her to stick around like she does
Wow!! Challenging Satirical Hierarchy head on. I’m not that brave.
I bet 🐧🎶🎶🎵👍
Are you speaking for the whole human race? It sounds like it. I love the biting sarcasm in this poem. A bit dark but then so is the day.
I only ever speak for myself, I wouldn't want to lumber the rest of the world with anything that might just tilt the balance .. especially at the moment ..
There is a reversing of thinking on many fronts and the drumbeat is gaining intents its and momentum. Bourgeoisie is dead and so is the middle class ailing, we’ve all been hammered down to wage slaves, hired hands and glorified paupers… we’ll see what comes next, it may not be too far away… we’d be well retired from productive years by then.
............................................ Maybe just maybe .. maybe 😊🐧👍
I object to you placing this herein in an attempt to even hint that I might be among those you so severely satirise…I’d just line the entire population up, tallest to shortest and have ‘em number from my left…..
if I woz not permitted to be your write hand man, then I imagine I would be one o the tiddlers write near one of the ends .. 🐧
Excellent write Nevilie
Make me feel good why don'tcha eh .. cheers 😊👍
You're welcome
It begs the question, if the roles were reversed, how would you feel about it then? The contrast from your many other writings kind of shocked me, but it is good to lay it all out there and stir some debate. I for one think slavery and servitude are abominations. We are all equal in the eyes of God (most of them) and under the law (of some countries), but we know we don't all exist equally. You never hear who's on the X, Y, and Z lists. Politics of the world as it is, your thoughts may be coming the reality, if any of us survive. - Phil A.
I quite agree, slavery in any of its many forms is an abomination yet it is still going on & often right under our very own noses .. This hastily scribbled bit of satire was not meant to reflect my own values or perceptions but rather to accentuate the absurdity of certain situations and positions held around the globe .. With much respect & kindest regards my friend .. Neville
Haha, you're a regular riot with this! Ah, but reminds me of too many things which aren't so humorous. I'll leave it at that. Charmingly rendered with perfect imagery and excellent good humor, not to mention a subtle poignancy. Thank you very much for sharing.
You are a star Missy and I am thrilled you were able to see it my way and give a decent thumbs up .. 😎👍
Loved the poem. Sounds very true, although hits very hard at our double standard. A while back I wrote something and got aptly chastised. It's similar to what you have aluded to

Thank you and most kindly. I am sorry your post was not well received .. Mine is meant to be a satirical take on wealth, ownership & entitlement & how it can go to peoples heads in this increasingly crazy, selfish and look at me me me world of ours .. I shall now go and return the favour .. Kindest regards, Neville
