Hypnotized by a moving ad
What was once despised now idolized
Wishing time would not move on
Frozen in what one wished not to be gone
Pull the covers over my head
Protected in a grave of the dead
Memories, return as waves
Dark echoes out of graves
Lost in a thicket of dreams
Torn on brambles horns
Life in unconscious streams
Buried peace mourns

Mmm… quite thought provoking! It might also be interesting to see how memories vary for each specific ad between persons or generations even.
Thanks so much Cryptic For the read and interpretation, your views are always valued.
A wonderful write, friend! Well done! I have felt this, and it is an important exercise to consider how external influences shape our desires and how we grapple with the passage of time and the allure of escapism. I could not find a time to want to escape more than now. And we just got through a ton of political ads, not to bring that into it, where what was once despised is now idolized. Then we get ourselves into the holiday season. “Buried peace mourns” indeed! Not sure if I am correct in my interpretation, but this is what hit me when I read. Again, well done Soren! A wonderful write! 🌹👏❤️
Thank you so much, Tristan. Yes, you are right and there are even deeper levels of this. Add distract us and sometimes it is both good and bad.
Oh, no doubt. It works both ways. 💯 You're welcome, my friend! A wonderful, multi-layered write!
Excellent write
Thank you so much, Tony for your read and for your kind words it is appreciated
You're welcome
I'm not entirely sure whether this has anything to do with subliminal messages that historically were used (for example in cinemas) to get folk to buy a particular product .. if it is, then it works .. but if it isn't, then it works .. even better ... Neville
Thanks Neville. Yes, you are halfway right. It does have to do with subliminal messages, but it also has to do with the hypnotic sense of advertising itself just in its coloration and everything else about it. Sometimes this is good and sometimes it is bad. It serves as a distraction for the weed, but also as a lure For the consumer Thank you so much for the read and insightful comment
A deep, dark and
thought provoking write! 🤔
A few things came to mind,

I see the awakening of a nightmare in here, one that we will all live. Superb and thought provoking and your last lines made me think there shall never be peace. 🌹
Thank you, Teddy. I appreciate your interpretation and read of this poem and indeed there may never be peace.
Superb work, my friend.
Thank you, Thomas. I appreciate your review. It is most welcome.
There are some adverts which transport me back in time. Simpler times, better values, more peaceful. Bringing a nostalgia which I love to be part of. The bisto gravy ad always did that to me. Some of the ads these days are ridiculous. Can’t relate at all. Must be showing my age. That’s my penny worth Soen.
Thank you, Cassie. I appreciate your review of this piece and your comments are most welcome.
That piece SPEAKS
all at once you cover the human trip through responsibility, reality inevitability, and frivolity can’t eliminate any you can hit them all. You gotta still stand up like Ludacris stand up.
Thank you, Bobby. Your comments are deeply appreciated and valued. Yes the human trip is quite a journey.
"once despised now idolized" sums it up nicely. The rest fills in the details. Nice.

May that peace rise soren and be with us all.
Andy
Thank you, Andy may it indeed. I appreciate your read and comment as always.
It rings true to me, what was despised is certainty now idealised. I dropped out a while ago.
