Boy and Bonnet

arqios

Notice of absence from arqios
Physically present, the rest may be somewhere altogetherโ€ฆ

Among the blossoms, bright and wide,

A boy walks by his mother’s side,

In his small hands, a bonnet light,

To crown her head with spring’s delight.

She smiles as he adjusts the bow,

Her eyes aglow with love’s soft glow,

In every thread and woven part,

A son’s devotion, mother’s heart.

this has a very dated feel to it .. for a moment I thought Robert Herrick who I have a soft spot for .. but then it took off and I still liked it muchly .. Neville

Thatโ€™s very heartwarming and Iโ€™m sure all mothers feel the same. A very tender poem and nicely done.
