The Consequences of Failing to Prep

The Consequences of Failing to Prep

Have you noticed how all of our

exhausted swifts

are having such a hard time of it ..

That late last clutch, may mean

the death of them

and it has not even snowed yet ..

No matter how good yours were,

nothing and no one can prepare you

for parenthood, or for winter ..

Perhaps I am being a simpleton, I felt the poem to be an eloquent portrayal of unexpected turn of events and how they catch us off guard, no matter how much we believe we are well prepared. Loved it

You are no simpleton sir, you are however very much appreciated & always welcome here .. Regards, Neville

So true Neville, we must just experience it as you cannot teach experience.

Good write N. Witty fido says 'To fail to prepare is to prepare to fail'. Banjamin Franklin - though some sources say he didn't say it originally. In which case, probably Fido said it originally, he that fount of wisdom, knowing 99% of all there is to know, having an anthology of 5 million proverbs, witty sayings, etc!
Fido I mean, not me. lol.
Also 'To beat an egg is to have an egg beaten'. (Eh? lol).

Had my children early and that had its problems too. Too early or late in the season is not good for survival but they don't teach parenting in school and even if they did no one would pay attention. Maybe I missed that class. As for winter I'm prepared but the snow's coming late this year. Loved the poem Neville
