Fragile

Cassie58

brown eyed girl

warm chocolate melting

soft curl a fountain

tickles on her left ear

a tumble of summer cornfield

half smile from a white cotton pillow

sheet turned down

three days in

how long a piece of string

blue curtains tremble

roller coaster heartbeat

another day passes

pawns in waiting

breathe a sigh of relief

family ghosts whisper

Masterful Cassie! Each line a new reveal that paints the picture of a girl or woman in such colorful detail. I felt like I was watching an artist paint. Deserves a Fav

There is such a fragility in our memories and all-encompassing are the complexity of relationships, the passage of time, and the intertwining of personal and familial histories; woven together in a much enjoyed poem.

Oh! How this ably culls swooning in the delicacy of its essence whose poignancy yet weighs so heavily the feather cannot but sink. What delicious imagery, the poem laden to effect with and very beautifully rendered. Thank you very much for sharing. I love it.
