There is a cost-of-living crisis.
The mince pies are the cheapest.
The carrots are yellow and wonky.
The wine is weak and unpleasant.
Do I still get my Christmas presents.

The Holiday List
It's holiday time, I've been given my list.
All the things the beloved wife does wish.
I just want 2 days so I can have a break.
Surely the list can wait, not for me today.
Get it done before the family come round.
What to do is quite clearly written down.
Can't I just spend some time laying in bed.
I need to rest and clear my hungover head.
Today my one and only wish.
To do anything except what's on that list.

The woman was blind as a bat.
She was looking for her fur hat.
She looked through all the draws.
Search the cupboard some more.
And left the house wearing her cat.

She had more than her share of breaks and quite rightly, if i had given her a list when she wanted a few days off, she would of quite rightly told me where to stick it, but i always got my list, Thank you for your comment.
