Under the golden boughs of ancient trees,

autumn sighs, as leaves

descend

in a swirling, endless ballet,

The earth receives them

with a gentle embrace,

withering compost pile.

                          We were walking by Our River arqios yesterday and there was barely a leaf on the trees. But we did also notice fresh buds on one of the trees so Nature is still coming.
