Mary's Magnificat (Song of Praise)

Tune: Woodlands

('Tell out my soul')

Luke 1 v.46-55

**********

My soul does magnify the Lord and praise

Him, and my spirit has rejoiced these days

In God my Saviour, for He has seen then

The lowly state of me His handmaiden

For, behold from henceforth all peoples, they

Shall call me blessed, for comes salvation's day

For He that is mighty has done to me

Great things, and holy His name always be

And His mercy is on them who Him fear

Each generation who to Him draw near

He has showed strength with His arm, has scattered

The proud in their hearts thoughts, has not deferred

He has put down the mighty from their seats

And exalted the lowly, done great feats

He has filled the hungry with His good things

And the rich are empty, this their greed brings

He has helped his servant Israel, for He

Has remembered His mercy, does them see

As He promised to Abraham and seed

His descendants He does keep, ever feed

Ah so appropriate for this time of the year Orchi. Very nicely worded and rhymed my friend.
