My Heartstrings No Longer Play Like A Harp

Teddy.15

There was an actual time in my life

that I was completely lost and alone

alone, even when I was in company

see, I used to choose the wrong people

lack of life experience

I lacked confidence

I let others who were bullies take me down

and even though that time in my life was

painful and dark

I was fragile

and couldn't see my way through

to the beauty of possibility

In the end, I did

even today, I have no regrets

because

It was my personal learning curve

fortunately, I gained my knowledge

I gained my courage

I grew to love myself

and now a day’s

my heartstrings no longer play like a harp.

A story of learning through youth and its bumps. So nicely told in concise and organized form. Well done

I've been down that road too Teddy. I hear a finely tuned acoustic guitar. ๐Ÿซ‚๐ŸŒน

I guess thatโ€™s where metal and acid rock was birthed, lifeโ€™s school of hard knocks, scrapes and bruises. My own version of that threw the harmonica in with the harp.

lol I would like to believe I'm more soft rock like Lionel Richie and Bonnie Tyler (heartache) ๐Ÿคฃ but I reckon you may have a great metaphor poem with acid rock and metal, that\'s brilliant, yes bumps and bruises we all behold don\'t we. Ah thank you so much dear friend. ๐ŸŒน

Oh...dear Teddy, I love this poem. I have no doubt you rocked then too, but you had yet to discover that fact about yourself and you've come into your own since then. A survivor. This poem tells the tale of youth, growth and resilience. You do, indeed, rock...my dear friend and this is a real write of empowerment. One that I feel many will relate with and find healing in reading. I know I relate! ๐Ÿ’ฏ Well done! ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ‘

Life can be hard at times Teddy but you have got through and are now the wonderful person you have become.
