To give me warmth you tore planks from your wall
Built me fire from your comfort
In cold winds of winter gave me your coat and shawl
Warmed by your discomfort
Nothing to eat, you gave me a spoon of kindness
Gave me grains from time's sand pile
A star's compass for my blindness
With nothing left, you gave me your smile

                You know, for a guy who's not religious, you certainly sound like this guy who was quoted in Matthew 25:38-45. 🤣 Of course, those words aren't "religion" (as in dogma), they're what we should be aspiring to. For real, this is what being human ought to be about, helping the other when in need and, conversely, being helped when in need. This is an easy fave for me, my dear friend.
