arqios

Notice of absence from arqios
an absence of Presence conjures Absence…

somewhere overhead

the smaller bear sits:

my constant companion

whose trajectory lights up

carries forward my story arc

brings us our own constellation

Yay, the first comment. As for your poem, I spot my beloved Ursa Minor. Was just looking up at the smaller bear, or little dipper, last night. I pretty much do any night I am outside and it is clear out. Love the stars. As I read this along with your note, I get a sense of a specific place really having an impact on who you are and where you've ended up. The Ursa Minor, then, is a metaphor for guidance and constancy. Connecting 30 years ago to today. A beautiful, powerful poem, my friend. Well done! πŸŒΉπŸ‘

Yes, very much so. I wasn’t surrounded by much company growing up, a basic latch key kid who got abused in the few hours that the β€œresponsible adults” were home. So I made my trysts and covenants with the inanimate - seasons, climate, stars, what have you… thanks for getting this and sharing your appreciated words. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

You're welcome, my friend. Are you originally from Brugge? Always intrigued by other people's stories. Sorry to hear that the "responsible adults" were abusive. Not very responsible of them. Thank you for sharing with me and I am glad that my analysis hit the mark. β€οΈπŸ™

No, not originally but was β€œadopted” by a wonderful Flemish Brabant family and it could be considered my awakening season. I was meant to have completed upper primary school in Bavaria but some years later I ended up living for a sort time in Belgium instead.

Oh. Got you. I am sure that made for quite the experience growing up. Thank you for sharing, my friend!

Ursa minor guidance or direction by Polaris the tip of the bear's tail. Callisto turned iby Artemis nto a bear for breaking her chatity vow. A great poem of a wander.

Indeed! The allusion to mythological lore makes it all the more compelling. Thanks for steering our thoughts that way, Soren πŸ™πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ•Š

I have always found the richest education possible is that of travel. This is stunning. 🌹

The stars in the night sky can offer hope when life in the real world can at times be hard for some, as they journey through. That’s where your lines took me arqios. Lovely brevity.

It could be magic, I remember Mum encouraging star watching and even never dissuading star chasing πŸͺ£ πŸ₯„ πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•Š
