Reeds piercing water, day begins
Reflections on a pond, here then gone
Ripples of a breeze break water's skins
Melting liquid images drawn
Birthed in blazing color
Pastel shades dim then go
So bright the sun's duller
Brush strokes on pool's canvas glow
Bugs as scratches on a mirror
A bulls eye where by a fish taken
Shattering what was once clear
Awaken from a dream mistaken
Though Sobek's skin is peeled away
In each new surface beauty does lay

It's fun to find beautiful things that others can't discover.
With an open eye and an open brain one can see beauty that is not apparent to most. Thank you so much for your read and comment it is most appreciated

Always fascinated me, the cyclical nature of beauty. Not much about this out there but here we are and your poem delivers. A contemplative beauty featuring a 'moulting' Sobek!
Thank you so much Cryptic your words are of great support and much appreciated
You are welcome Soren! 🙏🏻👍🕊️
Such beautiful reflections, reminds me of when I was a child and we lived by a gigantic pond. Your nature and all the imagery have come alive. 🌹
Thank you my poetic friend your words of encouragement are always deeply valued. I have a pond below me where the fish swim through the reeds and the frogs serenade me at night
enjoyed every line Soren.
a pleasure to read my friend.
Thank you very much for the read and comment
Marshes are beautiful. Where I used to live there was a boardwalk section of the Appalachian trail that cut right through a marsh. Their ecosystems are complex and lush. Wonderful poem that shows beauty in things most people pass right by...or may even find ugly. Love this poem, my friend. ❤️ Here's to Sobek!
Thanks for the read my friend it is always appreciated and most valued. Have a great day
