Graveyard of an old love
Sprouts ghosts from an empty tomb
Over severed hearts, time dirt shoves
Rot's wafting fumes become perfume
Hatched larva spread germs
Maggots of passion soon fly
Love's grave sprouts worms
Memories cleaned with lye
Undertaker of dreams
Scavenger of hope's buried bones
Awaken me from siren screams
Open my eyes, to forget their ghostly moans

Ahh, you've included some more recipe ideas for foods for me to give to KP! lol
You should have a full cookbook by now Orchi. Thanks so much for the read my friend.
I am not the memories in my head (or should that be body?), dammit!
A horribly good rhyme, Soren!
Thank you Mutley ah yes the old mind body question. Appreciate the read and comment it is most welcome
From the underside of love itself. Dead and buried incredible imagery and a most brilliant title🌹
Thank you Teddy as always I appreciate your read and perceptive words of support
Get a lot of haunting images of failed love reading this, though a bit dark very enjoyable read
Thank you Tobani yes dark indeed but then much of mine are. If life is bright on one side to ballance poems should be dark.
You are very welcome
The decay and haunting with their emotional resonance! Here spread out before us is a vivid and intense poetic exploration of the aftermath of a lost love. The raw and evocative imagery captures the complex emotions of grief, decay, and the longing for closure. It speaks to the universal experience of dealing with the ghosts of past relationships and the struggle to find a way forward. Intense and impactful Soren!
Thank you Cryptic your words of support are most helpful. Indeed loss of anykind requires a mourning and often that requires a visitation to the grave yard.
We sometimes visit random graves, ones that don’t seem to have been visited.
Strong metaphor to describe a dead romance that haunts. The greater the love that was, the more the haunting. Some very dark imagery here Soren. Quite a nightmare. Great description. Have a good weekend.
Thanks Cassie I apprciate your read and interpretive comments.
I can relate to this in more ways than one, my friend. A graveyard of an old love. Some live in a graveyard of current love! ❤️ A well expressed and thought-provoking write. As for the buzzing sound...shoo flies! 🤣 Again, really enjoyed this Soren!
Thank you so much Tristan very much appreciate your read and support it is deeply valued.
You're welcome.
Great depiction of the ghost of failed love that continues to linger. Well Done
Thanks Gray very much appreciate your read and comment as always
This is lovely, such a powerful insight. Rot becomes perfume, and where there was once love, there is hate. So beautiful!
Thank you so much for the read it is most appreciated and always valued
of course!
I get a feeling of love buried, but not necessarily dead, waiting in the recesses of the mind like bothersome flies buzzing, giving no peace. Brilliantly versed!
Ah dear Bella the first to catch this detail. So true ghosts although dead are not gone. Yes I think you are right because I believe that if it ever was true love it will never die. Thank you so much for the read and comment it is most valued
your poem explores the haunting nature of lost love and the emotional aftermath of heartbreak.
Thanks so much Thomasina for the read and comment it is most appreciated

images of past love come creeping up to us at the oddest ties - loved the way you have composed this - keepitup
Fine words soren but that love will always be there untarnished.
Andy
When its dead and gone, it might not be as quiet or quite as it seems .. there's always likely to be a certain amount of residual buzzing to contend with .. methinks .. Neville
