Wake of a muse

sorenbarrett

Black or blank drop or sea
Invisible, blind I can't see
Empty water from a dried up hole
Diamond turns burning coal
Flaming clouds become smoke
Burnt poems time to choke
Flowing soot of dreams
In tear lines streams
Buried Phoenix ash
Raising in resurected trash

That’s a hard striking poem, there, Soren. What’s left in the wake isn’t always what the final product embodies, other elements have been forged in their formation. On a side note, I wonder what the snow looked like in Pensacola. And although snow is what it is… its timing and circumstance brings nuances worth noting.πŸ™πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ•Š

Too close for comfort Cryptic spent most of my life in snow and cold and now in my old age to be chased by it is chilling. Thanks for the read and comment they are always appreciated

Wow a quite hard heavy piece today, hopefully something good will come out off the resurected trash, enjoyed the read

            • sorenbarrett

In this disposable world the trash gets burned but there is always something new to catch the eye and be sold at the market. Thanks so much for the read and understanding it is held in highest esteem

Thanks heavens a wake will never be held for The Muse!
Some great lines here Soren. It almost feels like you are writing backwards, if that makes sense?!

                • sorenbarrett

Backwards, right to left, bottom to top which ever way the thoughts flow or the winds blow. Thanks Mutley for the read and kind words. Your support is most welcome and appreciated

Man this hits home for me. The last couple of nights (though it may not seem like it because I keep publishing) have been muse wakes for me. I go, I pay my respects, I try to write something...anything...cannot do it. Depression certainly does not help. Anywho, if this poem is the resurrected "trash", I'll become a raccoon any day, my friend. This was superbly written! Well done! πŸŒΉπŸ‘

                    • sorenbarrett

I thank you so much for your most humbling remarks my litterary friend. They serve as support in this time of grief for the muse.

                      • Tristan Robert Lange

Indeed! May the muse resurrect quickly!

When the muse is with you, how great that can feel. Mine is lazy and I have far more scribbles half started than I’ve ever posted. This reminds me how I can start with a couple of good lines only for them to descend into cast offs. Nothing cast off here sorenbarrett. Some great imagery.
