Deflowered

sorenbarrett

The rose rapes my nose with its presumptuous fragrance
Words of birds, songs penetrate ears, from these lascivious tree vagrants
Eyes assaulted by naked beauty exalted, my virgin senses aroused
Skin molested, by sun's rays protested, gently I submit, warmly roused
Reluctantly I relent to nature's intent prostrate on the ground
Helpless flower striped of power, held by ropes of senses bound

Good write again SB. I admit I don't get some of the more cryptic meanings in people's poems, but don't let that stop you - or anyone else!

    • sorenbarrett

Orchi so appreciate your reads. Not to worry my friend, like any other art you don't have to understand it to like or not like it.

    • Teddy.15

You have uncovered the rose and it's mystical beauty my dear friend. Like everything in our lives time takes its toll. ๐ŸŒน

      • sorenbarrett

Thank you so much Teddy I was afraid that this might be a controversial poem but now we can't let controversy stop us now can we?

        • Teddy.15

Poetry true to form my dear friend. Word choice is poetic licence. ๐ŸŒน

          • sorenbarrett

Thanks Neville this is one of those that walk the line of controversy on that politically correct hi-way but then I take the side roads anyway and sometimes dirt trrails.
