Notice of absence from arqios

Close to 12 months
of being away
and many more
such absences
of varying durations
I’ve learnt quite
belatedly, just
how much it is
i belong here.

You must stay here arqios we all look forward to your words.
Andy
In so many ways I have never left. Burden of absence had become so much of a burden that I had to return even if my web capability wasnโt up to par. It still isnโt but we make doโฆ thanks so much for your much valued support and friendship ๐๐ป๐
Rather serious and sad
Truly, cellinic. I thought part of me was torn away and exiled ๐๐ป๐
Your voice is always welcome and your poetry enjoyed. Memories are never the same as the real thing.
Ah, of courseโฆ I try to blend that with another saying about if there being smoke a fire there also is. So a grain of salt is often quite useful, and a duckโs back as a wetsuitโฆ more so when treading deep waters. Thanks as ever. ๐๐ป๐
I am a nubie and beginner on here so I cannot comment on before, but i have enjoyed reading your work, don't always understand straight away but that's what i like, sometimes to have too think, and I look forward to reading many more
Most of my old work is still here, quite accessible. But onto your comment: thank you so much and Iโm glad you take the challenge. Many readers these days like everything spelled out for them. The give and take between reader and writer is almost a sacred bond and from our interactions back and forth, you have consistently proven to be devout and respectful follower of literature and poetry. Thank you ๐๐ป ๐
I read all sorts on here as i like to see other people\'s perspective, feelings, thoughts, insecurities etc, I find it fascinating how sometimes a simple thing can be interpreted in so many different ways by so many different people,I don\'t like everything I read on this site, but I try to understand at what point they are coming from to have a view I don\'t agree with, freedom of speech and all that. Look forward to tomorrow\'s read, have fun
You too! And thank you again. I like what you say about โnot liking everything read.โ Understanding goes a long way ๐๐ป๐
Yes. I hear you hear. Not sure when your hiatus was. I started on DarkPoetry.com, which despite its name, was not that good of a fit for me. It wasn't until 2017 that I felt brave enough to give online poetry sharing another try. I shared a some between then and 2024...however, for a whole host of reasons, 2024 woke up the sleeping poet and he's back! But this is not about me, now is it? I am certainly glad that both of our hiatuses came to an end so we could meet the hell up here and get to know each other! As you can see, I relate to this poem. ๐คฃ It gets a fave. Well done, poet and friend! ๐น๐
Most of โ23 and this is or should be about all of us. In the beginning of internet poetry I was an active participant although it took several years before I could get used to it. Then I realised that my poetic process is now inextricably linked to online poetry, or a large part of it is. I didnโt stop writing by any definition but I just didnโt engage on social media or the net during the hiatus. Thatโs the reason why there is a huge body of work queued up for posting, editing, and probably even scrapping.Thank you for engaging this as only you can๐๐ป๐
Indeed. You are welcome, my friend.
Your voices have been precious and continue to resound as this journey continuesโฆ thanks for the goodness you have shown ๐๐ป๐
Absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder doesn't it .. Neville
You were right about that N. Good to see you around ๐๐ป๐๏ธ thanks as always ๐๏ธ๐๐ป
Hmm. I stayed too busy and seemingly aloof for dunno how many years, until my present reality and a chance comment here tempted me out of obscurity. Since then there's nothing like the tantalizing camaraderie of these forums, is there?! Beautifully rendered with superb intrigue, excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
Nothing quite so tantalising indeed! Several years ago we had several lively online poetry groups (early to mid 2000) but that seems to have gone the way of the dodo ๐ฆค weโre not doing to badly here at MPS. ๐๐ป Thanks kindly for taking a very active part ๐๏ธ
I'm glad you are here.
Glad you are too! Thanks Thomas ๐๐ป๐๏ธ
That is a long time to stay away. I have had breaks of a few weeks, but I donโt think I could contemplate such a separation. Iโm so pleased you are back to share your poetry and reviews with us arqios.
Yes Cassie, thatโs what struck me about it at first! We vacant hardly stay away from the www even if we tried. But I was computerless for that period and still am for the most part. But I wouldnโt have figured Iโd be an oddity what with the deaths and those that had gone AWOL over the last quarter century. Kind of got used to that occurrence as wellโฆ Thanks ever so kindly ๐๐ป๐
Always a joy to read your poems and comments.
Thanks David. We do have a fine audience in this neck of the woods. ๐๐ป๐
