Tune: St Botolph
('I come with joy to meet my Lord')
Philippians 2 v.1-4
*********
If there any consolation
In Christ, He God's own Son
If any encouragement fair
With fellow mankind share
And too if there any comfort
Of love let it be sought
If any fellowship there be
Of the Spirit freely
Share these too, and be like-minded
Holding to Christ our Head
Have the same love, being of one
Accord, of one mind run* (*run = live, behave)
And let nothing be done through strife
Or vain-glory, the life
Of Christ show, be lowly in mind
Tender-hearted and kind
Let each esteem other better
Than themselves, so defer
From thinking of self only, do
Consider others too

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. St Paul is fair here, in saying we need to consider ourselves, our needs, etc. Though not only to think of ourselves, but think of others too.

Thank you R.
I like the message in this one Orchi. A lovely hymn with a great meassage that all of us should heed.
Thank you SB.
That appears to be a constant undergirding message the last fortnight and may continue to do so for a bitβ¦ if joy is strength, then there must be something to be strong forβ¦ ππ»π
Thank you A.
Welcome O ππ»π
Erm, a break from King David and the other Psalmists battling their 'enemies', physically and spiritually. But that theme is not in every Psalm.
Heaven forbid!ππ»ππ
Indeed. Well done, Orchi!
Thank you T.
You're welcome, my friend. Back to my holiday, I go...until the floppy-haired tangerine strikes again. In fact, I might avoid the news today! π€£
Love it
Thank you T.
You're welcome
Canβt disagree with anything I have read here Orchi. Nicely conveyed.
