I share my home with stingless bees
From five tubes of wax come melodies
A hypnotic hum from in foundation's step
Quiet drumbeats a secret kept
Born sun's golden, sticky rays
Rhapsody on cellophane wings plays
Lullabies drift on silken breeze
Miniscule hovering, honey trustees
The bee a life of harmony
Matriarchy divine sisterhood benign
To others devoted unity promoted
Not honey, harmony mystery of the bee
How they keep this way no one can say, its hidden in the hive
Community takes priority this way the individual will survive

I was just thinking of honeybees, and then I come across this rhyme!
I'm working on getting this body to produce its own honey - need some harmony to do that!
Beautiful work, Soren.
Thank you Mutley for the read and comment they are always appreciated yes producing one's own honey would be quite interesting whether literal or metaphorical honey is a sticky word,
Good write SB.
Thanks so much Orchi your reads are greatly appreciated
Like a beekeeper’s song! A ‘ quiet’ but busy and buzzy well occupied life. Much enjoyed 🙏🏻🕊
Thank you so much Cryptic for the read and comment. Yes indeed we have much to learn from the bee
Oh yes we do/can/should 👍🏻🙏🏻🕊️
the individual will survive....
lets hope one day we will all learn from the harmony of bees.
a most exceptional write Soren.
Thank you Melvine for the read and comment it is always most appreciated
Enjoyable read! John
Thank you John your read and review mean a lot
Nice work!
Thank you Salvia for the read and kind words
For me a interesting and enjoyable read as there is a lot to admire and learn from the way nature lives and looks after itself. Bees are a wonderful self sufficient community but they are also a dictatorship, with severe punishment for falling out of line. Still a lovely write
Thank you for the read and comment it is always most appreciated. It has been said that a benevolent monarchy is the ideal form of government. Maybe is is only such that peace, safety and fairness can be preserved in a community. Just a loose openminded thought.
Swings and roundabouts both ways, have a great weekend
Well written, Soren, Your poem masterfully reveals stingless bees' extraordinary harmony and synergy, showcasing their community-driven spirit and the transformative power of unity over individual pursuits. You illuminate the bees' unique lifestyle, focusing on the breathtaking beauty of their existence rather than their honey production. You seem to aim to inspire a deeper appreciation for the vital importance of community, cooperation, and the awe-inspiring beauty of life in the natural world, encouraging me as the reader to marvel at the intricate relationships within the ecosystem.
Thank you so much for the read and most intuitive interpretation as well as just gracious words, Thanks
Wow, an extraordinary insect and you have given us the reason why they are also queens. Superb. 🐝 🌹 The richness is right here my friend.
Thank you Teddy as always I appreciate the review and your kind words that are always so supportive

Ya gotta love bees.Honey makes the hive go round. This is delightful read.I enjoyed reading
Thanks so much David for the read and kind words they are always most appreciated
Got this one, I think, Soren (makes a change!) A write I thoroughly enjoyed.
Two small issues:
Never heard of stingless bees before (though the bees I’ve encountered haven’t been unfriendly….)
The communal behaviour is obviously wired in, and it may well be that the addition of reason and independent thought which has bought humanity down!! 🙃
Thanks Dave these bees are extremely small about half the size of a flea. They have set up housekeeping in the step going into an old kitchen of mine where during the day they can be seen buzzing about the wax tubes they have placed as entry and exit points for their hive. At night they are all inside but despite their small size the hum that comes through the cracks in the concrete sound like there is a much bigger active bee hive during the day. Appreciate the read and comment will be looking for some of yours to read.
Cheers Soren - maybe soon. Only here cos its Sunday and at a loose end....
May that harmony always be in your life soren.
Andy
