At the end of the day
My bed calls,
Into it I crawl
Hoping sleep will come.
I fall into that sleep
But then I wake,
Something is on my mind.
The thought of it keeps me awake,
Eventually I fall asleep,
But then I awake again,
And another worry comes to me,
But after a while I fall asleep.
I awake in the morning
Thinking about those things,
Those things that entered my mind.
Many nights I sleep well
And have pleasant dreams.
But then there are those nights,
Those nights where I worry,
Worry once more,
Worry about nothing to worry about.

To quote a humorous character in a certain movie not widely acclaimed, "There's nothing like a good night's sleep. And that was NOTHING like a good night's sleep--!!!" At least you're sensibly aware you're stewing in the darkness over absolutely nothing. Mine swear they're more than justified. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery a haunting poignancy, and a very charming likewise. Thank you very much for sharing.
Thank you so much for your kind words Missy.

You must be worrying that tomorrow which is next week - or was it yesterday? Something like that. You know - that saying that I never get right! lol.
Yes something like that Orchi. LOL
Andy
Do you worry that old Orchi never seems to remember that saying: 'Tomorrow is the day that..... etc'?
Worry is the weight on the other side of the ballance that gives meaning to pleasure. I too have felt it. Nicely written
So true soren, thank you.

Worry is a problem. You have so much joy in your life and still worrying.Time for a holiday.A change of scenery.Go to a Jazz show
Thank you David, music cures any worries in my life.
Andy
I think quite a common problem, i think we have become accustomed to worry and it does not feel right if we are not worrying, enjoyed the read
Thank you Tobani, you are probably so right.
Andy
You are very welcome
Snap Andy. I too wake up frequently and worries, do seem to become exaggerated at night time. Pretty common in my circle, and my age group. I play relaxation music very quietly, so not to disturb the man of the house. Enjoyed the read and can empathize. Have a good Tuesday.
Very true Cassie, music is my cure as well.
