The Fog

Fog spreads over the city,
engulfing the courthouse and streets.
A symbol of confusion and delay,
it wraps around lives intertwined in Chancery.

People move through murky days,
waiting for justice in endless legal battles,
lives on hold, trapped in the court's slow grind.
The fog seeps into their hearts, minds clouded by uncertainty.

What a wonderful metaphor you have painted in this metropolis. Yes like the fog the law is never swift, always murky, hides justice and truth, creates confusion, and the key word is uncertainty. Very nicely written.

And they make a tidy sum as well, these experts of jurisprudence! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•Š

The fog within the justice system is greed, to many people dragging the blatantly obvious out as long as possible on a hefty hourly rate , enjoyed the read, making valid points

Again that word: β€œgreed!” Thank you πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Ive been in 3 court cases for three of 4 years. I can relate to this more then ulyou know. If i had money my court battles would have been over and won years ago. Unfortunately the emotionally saturated judicial system only responds to the dollar like everything else either wise I'd be a much more fulfilled person I think. Lol

What never yet rather fails to baffle me is how poets and poetesses manage to translate reality into the exquisite facts fewer succeed at comprehending, despite being half aware. Superbly rendered with gorgeous imagery and a wonderfully haunting poignancy, thank you very much for sharing.

I loved this. I think your poem captures something fascinating about power in society. Far from being clear or evident, the systems that shape our lives are often foggy and covered by mist. It reminds me a bit of Foucault's 'Discipline and Punish'."
