Sigh of a storm

sorenbarrett

In the calm of a hurricane's eye
Fly birds in a tranquil sky
Lie of pending winds yet to come
Numb to the beat of the approaching drum

A rainbow on the back of a fly
Cry of a baby, turned into a sigh
Die, as a shadow melts with the sun
Done, life's passage, new one begun

Thatโ€™s such a scary thing to me, being in the eye of the storm, itโ€™s like waiting to be fish slapped from both directions, certain of uncertainty! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

I see two metaphors here, one could also be about our inner struggles. ๐ŸŒน

Soren,Your poem provides a contemplative examination of existence, the inevitability of change, and the moments of serenity that can be discovered even amidst turbulent times. It prompts me, as the reader, to reflect on my personal experiences with life's transitions. The imagery of a hurricane's eye serves as a potent symbol of calmness amidst chaos, while the references to the rainbow and the cycle of life, including birth and death, underscore the transitory beauty of existence.
