Scales of gray spill over aging hours of a waning day
Descending clouds, blur, a fading edge of realities photograph
Smoky ash colored fog leaves grainy images in a wintry feel of time
In mist of the eye the world dissolves, blindness falls
A memory folded to be put away, bent corners of another day
Deteriorated bits of today, the past long missed, now so tenderly kissed
To be stored, till tomorrow's dawn, in a dusty drawer
Where only the mind has the key

And a key that is employed prudently gets the results that benefit ππ»π
Thanks Cryptic there are many scratches around that keyhole. Appreciate the read and kind words as always they are most valued.
Would that mean its often usage, I wonder! ππ»π
Could be that or drunken state of the keyholder
That would also do it! Bug bear: scratched keyhole, specially on the car door and ignition grrrβ¦ lol ππ»
This is wonderful. So poetic and filled with inspiring lines. Very enjoyable to read.
Thanks for the read and most kind words of support they are most important
Sometimes there are so many relics tucked away we can't find all the keys, some great lines in this enjoyable read
Thanks so true some keys are lost and when found may not want to be used. Appreciate the read and kind words of comment
You are very welcome
Where only the mind has the key, how very poetic and a beautiful creative way to say it, ah, the mind, each and everyone unique and as a population world wide there's quite a few. I think there is an infinity of things to learn about the mind, and we each have to embrace our own, but we must also consider others, up most beauty in this. πΉ Empathy compassion and self awareness it's all in here. πΉ
Thank you my poetic friend for the encouragement. Almost didn't post this one because felt it was not up to par but appreciate the encouraging words
Up to par? When one says I would look fabulous in a black bag I say to you dear modest Poet so would you. Take a bow because my friend along with your very oura there is an infinity of learning and wisdom and creativity in pictures. πΉ No I'm not drunk I'm just humbled and honoured. πΉ
Good write SB. Can I put KP in a dusty drawer - or cupboard - and throw away the key?! lol
You could but you wouldn't be able to sleep for the racquet of her curses and beating on the inside of the drawer with her fists. Thanks for the read and comment my friend

Thank you Tony
You're welcome
There is so much here to ponder and dwell on .. but for me, perhaps the most encouraging and enlightening thing is that so many of us who write on a regular basis imagine the same and such similar things and variously weave them into our daily offerings.. Note to self go check on box of loose photos asap .. N
Tomorrows dawn will bring the light for those memories to be remembered soren.

Beautiful, I guess even in dementia the mind has the key, and yet one is sadly lost to oneself. Thanks for a stimulating read
