slipping away

arqios

Notice of absence from arqios
๐Ÿ•Š ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

as feathers in flight; none of them stay

in the lapping of waves, multitudinous

grip slipping off, pulling further away

disappearing into the moon's pull

sky and horizon consummate

your vanishing, pointlessly

seeping, sweeping away

Good write A. Go away Alf, you say!

Rain, rain go away, come again another dayโ€ฆ little Tommy wants to play!

the tides return twice a day, and birds migrate and return too, but the river is something else. Once that water has gone beneath the bridge, it never returns. My mind drifted reading you, excuse my ramblings. I didnโ€™t see permanent in your poem, but then I seek light rather than darkness. Thought provoking. Have a good day arqios.

No need to be excused, the mouth of the river has always been an interesting biome! Thanks Cassie ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Seems a sense of loneliness and losing confidence. A very powerful piece.Excellent

        • arqios

Kind of and almost, like conceding without committing to that sense of loneliness and lossโ€ฆ at the cusp of it ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

From one that frequently writes dark, no this is not too dark. It talks to entropy the second law of thermodynamics. It is a constant in nature from birth to death and from empathy to disinterest. I found this poem very nicely woven and hope that I didn't unravel it.

          • arqios

Nothing unraveled, friend. You do know me so wellโ€ฆ. The tendency to darkness can garnish as well as contour and texture the other side of the spectrum- that is what I hope, pragmatic cynicism, or something like that ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

Much thought about how our surroundings may set us on a mood or a journey.

I get a small sense of confidence and belief so slipping away but not knowing why, enjoyed the read

Oh niceโ€ฆ itโ€™s the nuances that makes expression so interesting and varied ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

an insidious demise springs to mind .. I doubt you could have crafted it better .. indeed I'm pretty sure that nobody could .. so very sadly but very muchly enjoyed .. Neville

Love the contradictions of life, somewhat like the feel of an Alfred Hitchcock film. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š๏ธthanks Neville๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
