My boss, a psychiatrist, once said to me
"If you don't know where you're going
you'll end up where you don't want to be"
It was good advice, and he was right
He came out of the closet and his married bed
Lived his off hours as a transvestite
Then put a bullet through his head

π€£ amusing and true how we live for standards for others and not for ourselves, I could have told you that, and I'm not even a psychiatrist. Sorry he felt the need to die for who he really was though πΉ
Thank you Teddy, you got the message that he couldn't grasp. Appreciate the read and comment as always
Take some of his own medicine πΉ metaphorically speaking
Do as I say not as I do
πΉ I saw it from the other scope so clever both ways thank you. β€οΈ
A read I could relate to, if only because it contained no detectable (by me) metaphor, Soren.
Chock full of irony, though. Great fun as a result.
Thank you my friend appreciate your review and words. Waiting for another of your gems.
Keep waiting. Vacuum where the gem should be right now.
Only under pressure do diamonds form
Too much metaphor there, mate............ too much pressure produces in me an equal and opposite reaction....π (lol)
Wow that was shocking. Being different is still difficult despite all the so called freedom we enjoy these days. A powerful expose
Thank you David for the read and words they are most important to me. Yes he was such a nice guy and always most kind to me although he ranted at everyone else. Miss him.
So much crammed in so few words! Amazing ππ»π
Thank you Cryptic for the kind words they are always most appreciated. Yes not just a boss but friend he is missed.
As he should be esteemed ππ»ποΈ
Everyone has things hidden away, every therapist I ever saw when i was younger had more issues than me, I often wondered if they chose the profession they did because they could not control their own lives, so took control of others, a good read
Thanks so much for the read and comment my friend. Yes I have been asked that question too as a psychologist and have had to ask it of myself but due to my own blindness answered no.
You are very welcome
Excellent write
Thank you so much Tony
You're welcome
And - Erm, if we don't know where we're going, e.g, on the No.7 bus, how will we know when we've got there?! lol.
Won't When young I went to Brazil and didn't speak the language very well. I got on a bus going to another town in another state and didn't know when I got there, too many stops inbetween. Thanks for the read Orchi
Op!
Thank you so much Ninja
Sometimes what might appear funny or odd is neither is it .. I have personally known a handful of colleagues who went down the self same route & no kidding ..
Thanks Neville very much for the read and comment they are most appreciated. Yes he had become more than a boss but a friend but his death set me free to work for myself and was therefore a change in my life becoming my own boss.
A wonderful write, my friend. A piece that feels humorous on the surface, but beneath that is a cautionary and tragic tale of someone who could not learn to love and accept himself. As one such person who struggles in this regard, I take this poem to heart. Thank you my friend! πΉπ
Thank you so much Tristan for your read and understanding of both the irony and tragedy of such a saturation. It is much appreciated.
You're most welcome, my friend.
