Tune: Southwell
'(Lord Jesus, think on me')
Psalm 130
*******
Out of the depths have I
Cried, Lord, to me raw nigh
Lord, hear my voice, and let your ears
Hear my prayer, and draw near
If you, Lord, should mark our
Sins, each day hour to hour
Who shall stand? But there forgiveness
Be, your grace unto us
'Ti so you may be feared
In awe we to you neared
I wait for the Lord, my soul wait
He shall help me not late
As they that wait at night
For coming morning light
So my soul it waits more than they
For your salvation's day
Hope in the Lord, there be
Mercy, redemption, see
Plenteous, He shall redeem sure
Us from all sins, make pure

Ah Orchi you have outdone yourself on this one. If I were to write a hymn it would be this one. The topic of forgiveness is a favorite, the verse chosen sublime and your wording perfect. This one gets a fave my friend.
Thanks SB.

Oh my! After the past couple of days, I thought maybe this was Mrs. KP giving a poem a chance ๐คฃ, then I realized you are back to your hymn-poems. All jokes aside, a mighty fine one, Orchi! To forgive...divine. ๐โค๏ธ

A fine hymn poem in 6.6.8.6 unless I am mistaken .. Neville
Thank you N. Yep, hope so, unless a syllable or two extra have sneaked in. 6.6.8.6. is 'Short Metre' or S.M. Not that the number of verses have to be short.
