A Selfish Man.

A Selfish Man

Mountains reaching out across this wonderful land.

Pure snow drifting like sand across the desert sands

Rivers meander gently as the generator of our life

In the forever skies the sun shines so burning bright

Heat of the sun helping the world to heal and grow.

The seas slow cleansing with a gentle motherly flow.

Animals roaming gamely across the abundant plains.

Everything is gifted to us to create the human race.

Sadly, humans will slowly destroy the promised land.

The only man that’s been created was a selfish man.

Some humans have and will carry on the work ascribed as keepers of the land. That is my hope, and this poem is one such work of keeping. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•Š

Partaking of the forbidden fruit left perfection so dead that despite the mercies abounding daily, we've a thread of the perverse staining everything. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, sadly this is true! We always seem to select the wrong kind of people to lead us, and so we are, alas, collectively all partly to blame! A poem with a powerful message!

Hello Tobani, sadly there are many who don’t care about looking after our planet, it is shameful. Beauty spots spoiled by rubbish, rivers and seas polluted with plastic. Locally we have a group of dedicated people who regularly go out and litter pick, keeping the environment clean for those who care. Taking s pride in the neighborhood. A topical write. Have a good Thursday.
