Where Are All The Grassy Knolls When You Really Need One

His exit, from the world stage, was more

of a fall from grace

without a single sympathetic ripple but

   much rapturous applause ..

Some words you see, speak for themselves ..

Much like certain dictators,

liars and clowns do, but hey, get this, he was

far too busy redesigning

the truth and opposing reality to notice how

fast the tide of opinion was

swiftly turning against him, yet still, it was a

combination of the swell

and the backwash, that eventually took him,

plus his cronies out in the end ..

Which incidentally folks, along with all those

mammoth presidential lies

of his and their collective absurdity, amount

to nothing less than gross

universal war crimes against the better half

of humanity .. Not to mention,

the complete disregard, for any rights, needs

or beliefs of all those others

both on and off camera, whose bodies now

lay littered and strewn around

for the whole world to see in a cage without

obvious boundaries or bars to

contain any of their ridiculed collective ego’s ..

But then, me writing about

that slime ball won’t save lives or really change

anything at all, except maybe

the way I feel about my own integrity or perhaps,

ease my conscience a little ..

Years ago I had hero leaders that I admired. Washington, Lincoln, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, on and on but as I got to know the lives of each I found a balance just as bad as the good. Now I wonder if somehow in the murderer's and rapists I have known if there is something as good that balances that bad. Time will tell. I worry about a rash and impulsive man with too much power. It has happened before with bad consequences for many. I hope that history will tell us something different than what the present seems.

Ah, by that token I was hoping against hope for the situation to be salvaged. But you are correct. How now to keep calm and to carry onโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

A wholly cogent, powerful rant which got me going in all the right places. Many many thanks Neville.

Well written,Neville,Your poem addresses themes of moral decay and the consequences of power and dishonesty, particularly in the context of political leadership. It reflects on the fall of a figure who has manipulated truth and reality, drawing parallels to dictators and corrupt leaders.

Ahh, a poem about KP and the way she treats me - heehee. I knew I wouldn't get the true meaning, if there's anything even slightly cryptic in the poem. lol

I give up on figuring out this tidy little riddle against some leading character in a drama and state which owns presidents, fascinated by your rendering, though. Tendered beautifully with excellent imagery and a keenly haunting poignancy, thank you for sharing.

I doubt I could have been any more explicit without the secret police (those in his pocket) drawing a bead on me .. Cheers tho' Missy .. Neville
