Hands that grasp

sorenbarrett

Jealousy a slave owner's chains that hold their possession tight
Love seen as something owned, not a gift but a right
Birthed out of greed, DNA its seed, twin brothers of revenge and hate
No prisoners escape, they all suffer rape as their servile fate

Forgiveness the key that will set free the one that it gives
Unlocked shackles of hate, no longer freight, guilt falls through love's sieves
Believing men do the best they can, given the tools they possess
Breaking chains of blame, leaving no rancor to you oppress

Makes one wonder and ponder with much interest wherein the metaphor lies and points. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

I'm afraid people will not want to hear this one Cryptic. It may ruffle a few feathers but what are we to do if we can't throw out ideas and views that are not popular. Appreciate the read and comment my friend

Yes, in the sociopolitical atmosphere of the day we are liable to be squelched, cancelled, boycotted, ostracised and vilified, oh and demonised and criminalised as wellโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š

That will put the cat among the pigeons, jealously, love, hate, control, for some controlling the green eyed monster is incredibly difficult, are they seeking or expecting forgiveness, one to ponder over my Sunday cup of tea, enjoyed

the nature of love and the transformative power of forgiveness, A powerful painting, sorenbarrett, Your poem seems to explore the destructive nature of jealousy and ownership in relationships, contrasting it with the liberating power of forgiveness. It critiques the possessive aspects of love, suggesting that true love should be free and unencumbered by greed, revenge, and hate. You serve to provoke thought about the nature of love and the importance of forgiveness, encouraging readers to reflect on their own relationships and emotional struggles

              • sorenbarrett

Thank you so much for your read and interpretation. We own no one, love can not be bought or owned, it can not be demanded it is given free. If someone chooses to betray it is because they wish to and that love one is so jealous of was never theirs. Forgiveness frees the giver as does the belief that we all do the best we can with who we are and so there is nothing to hate, only pity exists.

You are very welcome, sorenbarrett, You're absolutely right, Jealousy and love are both complex emotions, yet they also hold the power of control over someone.
