But of course, my friend. Besides, which democracy is being lamented, eh? As an American, my school years saw me reciting, until it should be ingrained within me, our Pledge of Allegiance. That, crazily enough, is flatly ignored in my adulthood as the idiots howl endlessly over the loss of their supposed democracy. It was never what they tout. But that shan't divorce them from such dreams. Benjamin Franklin's reply when asked what government the representatives had given the states was, "a republic, IF you can keep it." I shall politely disagree with very nearly every line above... excepting the query's assessment: insanity is the latest trend. Beautifully rendered with an excellent poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

I’m afraid it’s been so for quite some time now, just waiting for it to be legislated comprehensively across the planet. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•Š

Degree is the only difference in any. Fascism meets Communism at the extremes. At times it is normal to be insane and for the insane to be normal and after all who is to define insanity it is merely the degree of difference from the majority. Watching what the majority do I would rather be insane myself. A thought provoking and well written piecer my friend

YES!!! Yes it is! I think it has been for quite a while, while most of us were looking the other way. But one can't look the other way anymore! Excellent poem. #Truth πŸŒΉπŸ‘

Wrong is right and lies are considered truth while those telling the truth are considered the liars; sound a bit familiar? Great write

Why, yes, of course! Says me in my dafter moments. Doh! Bonkers things like a story I read of a rich snobbish person who scolded her servant for not dipping strawberries in sugar before feeding them to her pet monkeys! 'As you do' - a daily occurrence? lol.

i think the answer is obvious - you have clarified it yourself indirectly
scary thought - wish things normalize one day soon
