Flower

sorenbarrett

An orchid grows on hard rock, roots clinging to a rough surface

Beauty pressed against cold stone, with painted lips kisses solid granite

From its nest of roots the Bennu bird sprouts flowering petals of the sun

A whirlwind of fiery blossoms erupts from seas' parted crevice of rock lifting Elijah fed by crows

An epiphyte nourished by God, manna that falls from heaven

Thanks Tobani I appreciate the read and most kind words of encouragement. Sorry about the eyes I was tired of the standard type and thought a flower merited something a little more flowery.

Well done, Soren, and an intensified poem. Yet it had me thinking; excellent job.
Your allusions to the Bennu bird, the Greek Phoenix, the prophet Elijah, epiphytes, and manna are noteworthy. Each of these elements is intricately linked to motifs of creation, survival, and the mystical interplay between the divine and the natural world. Your poem is structured as an extended metaphor, deftly connecting mythological and religious symbols to broader themes of existence, sustenance, and the divine. Furthermore, your poem explores the theme of resilience and the emergence of beauty in harsh environments. It posits that life and beauty can flourish even in the most inhospitable environments, as exemplified by the orchid growing on hard rock. It appears that you aim to inspire readers to discover beauty and strength in their own struggles, emphasizing the notion that even in adversity, life can thrive through divine support and resilience.
