sorenbarrett

Passion a firework explosion
So quickly to black it burns out
Falling ashes left in its corrosion
Leaves new sky to scout

We don't make love, we feel it
It's not hot but comfortable and warm
From a spark like a fire first lit
It grows slowly on the horizon like a storm

Love and passion may go hand in hand
Either can open the door
Neither we understand
One itching skin, the other living core

Your poem illuminates the beautiful nuances between passion and love, highlighting their ephemeral nature and the profound impact they have on human connections. It reveals that while passion can radiate intensely and swiftly diminish, love blossoms gradually, nurturing a sense of serenity and comfort. This thought-provoking exploration invites reflection on the intricate dance between passion and love, inspiring readers to contemplate how these emotions intertwine and elevate their lives. Ultimately, it serves as a poignant meditation on the transitory and enduring essence of these universal human emotions.

              • Tristan Robert Lange

"We don't make love, we feel it." On the surface, a literal translation of this is true enough. But metaphorically and philosophically, this is profoundly true across the board. We feel and we share/give love...experience it even, but we don't make it. 🀯 Well done, Soren. This is an instant fave for a whole host of reasons, let alone what I focused on. πŸŒΉπŸ‘

"We don't make love, we feel it" what a beautiful stanza that follows. It's a funny thing that people don't seem to understand for a while.

I once read that the abuse of sexual energy is at the root of mankind's suffering. It's been claimed that is what caused mankind's fall and ejection from Eden. Taking a bite of the apple.
                              Great write, Soren
