The question asked a million times
“Are we alone?”
Out there among the stars
Where so much is unknown
The Goldilocks Zone
Where the conditions are exactly right
Not too warm, not too cold
The perfect distance from sunlight
A ten-billion-dollar telescope
Front row seat to the universe
A view beyond imagination
Countless dreams to reimburse
A billion trillion homes
Beyond our Earth
How many lifeforms can there be?
And how long since their birth
What would they look like?
Humanoid, like us?
Carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen?
Oxygen, sulfur, and phosphorus?
Or strangely enough
A lifeform in pure light
If we open our minds to see
The light in life

awh heckkkkk! i hope you are smiling after writing this because reading it I know i sure am. Such a fun fun fun virtuously exploratory moment from my memories! Thank you and keep writing!
Yes I'm smiling Hollow. Thank you for reading and a very positive response. 😉👍
I believe that there are beings out there AP and people who deny it are just so arrogant to believe our world is the only one to have life.
Andy
Thanks Andy. I'm with you 100%, to them, it's inconceivable that there would be life elsewhere in the universe. But to those of us with an open mind know that its inconceivable that out of a universe so big, Earth would be the only planet with life on in. Some people don't dare to venture outside their own backyard, let alone the cosmos. 🤔
Very reflectively awakened 🙏🏻🕊
Thank you arqios, I appreciate you reading and commenting. 😉👍
Most welcome AP🕊️🙏🏻
Great questions that most of us have asked as we stare up into the night sky. I am not so arrogant as to think that aliens, or gods would be in our form or within our understanding. The poem poses deep questions that reflect back upon us that ask them. Very nicely done.
Thanks soren. The thought occurred to me some years ago that what if there was a lifeform in the form of light itself. And it's always stuck with me that although strange, like a million other strange things we don't know about out there.
You are not the only one that thinks of such things. I too have thought of (life) as a rather loose term and defined within our own perimeters that Intelligence may be another term (also defined with in our view of what it is) Our view is so limited and things may exist outside of our perception or even thought.
That's how my poem got it's start. With an open mind, the possibilities are limitless.
Like your soul my dear brother of poetry, this is a stunning reminder not only of your soul but of how positivity can overwhelme us all. 🌹
Thank you dear Teddy, my muse is a slave driver lately. 😁
