I love question poems because it leaves it up to the reader and thereby decreases resistance. The question frees the mind to think and choose. Here the question between heart and mind is the age old split between logic and emotion, male and female in traditional thought and as has been thought in old myth the perfect god is a hermaphrodite that shares both qualities. One without the other is hard to imagine Even Star Trek's Spock had a little feeling. Very nicely written this poem dichotomized into two three line stanzas

Since "...the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9 [see also verse 10]), the mind seems initially preferable. Yet I cannot help but think the mind is controlled by said heart, until this conundrum leaves me floundering. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Both are important in life Tobani, the mind thinks and the heart feels.

That's a great sort of proverb. Can I ask if you wrote it or it's a quote?
