Graves

Tony36

Upon their graves the flowers grow

Line on line

Row on row

They fought for freedom

They gave there all

When the enemy struck

They answered the call

Their lives they gave

Their lives they layed

Once they felt love

Were loved

Saw sunset glow

Once they had families

Played games

Built crafts

A poet

A songwriter

A Baker

The list can go on and on

They fought

They gave

Eternal sleep

Within these graves

A beautiful poem reminiscent of the song (Where have all the flowers gone) best known by Peter, Paul and Mary. Well done very moving

Thank you, never thought about it, but I guess it does have that feel to it

Glad the baker made it, the butcher and the candlestick maker were not billed this time around. At least the list goes on and on! What more can be asked for!? Graves are bearers of so many past stories. It's probably a hope of the living that it won't end. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Wow! Amazing depiction of the people who have died for our safety. I truly am amazed at your ability to convey such a perspective.
