At the old coffee shop
The old folks meet
Drinking coffee
Talking about life
One by one
They gather in their seats
And join in whatever discussion had begun
They discuss the state of things
Of how things are falling apart
How theirs was the best generation
Taking each word by heart
Some look down on the youth
Others say give them a chance
But both sides agree
Things were better in the past

Welcome
A great write and great reflection on how each generation feels they were better and how the younger shrug it off as the discontent of old that don't understand the present. Lovely
Thank you
Hey Tony,
I enjoyed this read. I have long been fascinated by coffee shops as communal spaces and the theme of nostalgia. I think your poem touches upon these themes in interesting ways.
Keep writing, buddy!

This is clever.A common complete of old people is they blame the next generation for messing things up.Enjoyable read mi amigo

Yes, falling apart. Yes, they discuss and what are they doing?
