constants of change

arqios

Notice of absence from arqios
πŸ•Š πŸ™πŸ» often and again, away πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

Many, many decades later,

 Subtrahend— —the thief of

time—had stolen years,

whittling away youth

with quiet precision,

leaving only memories as souvenirs.

Minuend, proud and steadfast,

 stood firm against life’s relent-

less subtractions, holding onto

         laughter,

unyielding, even as the seasons

adjusted the equation.

Difference, a wanderer,

 measured space between

our footprints, sometimes vast,

sometimes mere inches—

—always shifting but never lost.

Constant, our faithful friend,

 never faltered through life’s

algorithms, proof that distance

and time could never truly

divide what was meant to remain.

And so, decades later,

when our paths converged once more,

 the solution was simple, undeniable:

 Friendship is a theorem unbroken—

                                 —forever true.

Loved this poem where mathematical features are turned mythical in a great metaphor of deeper meaning and so all myths are made. Lovely Cryptic

Good to hear your take Soren. Somewhere else they wanted it not to be linked specifically to friendship. Can’t please everyone πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ»

I used to be a Maths Teacher so this poem was right up my algorithm. Very clever the fact taht in youth we struggle with the solutions and as we get older the truth reveals itself. Friendship is the key solution.Very clever poem.I enjoyed reading

Ticklish. Math teachers were almost venomous to me. You redeemed that profession for me πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ˜ƒ

I never liked maths teachers, the subject was ok but I enjoyed this write. Clever write that as we mature in life, the issues we have in our youth gradually reveal the answers, very nicely done
