    You returned?! LOL.

    • Doggerel Dave

Yep, blew home on the last storm. Needed to check up on you to ensure you had buried yourself in enough nonsense to insulate yourself from the next weather event.

      • orchidee

I can tell ya summat old, in my role as Sir Orchi NS.

        • Doggerel Dave

Oh come on - no need to be coy. After all we have known one another for a goodly while now....

          • orchidee

I, Sir Orchi NS, being of sound mind (you sure? heehee), is he who knows nothing new. But Fido knows 99% of everything there is to know! lol.

            • Doggerel Dave

              It's a dog's life, innit.....

            • sorenbarrett

For someone that prefers the direct you put out a very deep poem my friend. This one had me thinking way beyond the surface. Most thought provoking indeed.

              • Doggerel Dave

Thanks for taking the time here Soren. I do my best (not always successfully) to engage with reality. Unfortunately all I have as tools are words and I sometimes pay excessive attention to their use. Hence my irritation (nothing new!)

              • Poetic Licence

This is a much deeper read than first appears, mind tingler enjoyed the read

                • Doggerel Dave

A very short tingle... Very grateful for the read and support.

                  • Poetic Licence

                    You are very welcome

                  • Cheeky Missy

Hahaha. The sky is falling, I'm off to tell the king! The grass is green here and rain is lightly falling too. Was the misspelling deliberate or? Sturm and Faire and all of Dat voca-bularry. Okay, enuf of me.

                    • Doggerel Dave

Wot misspelling Missy?? Are you trying to enforce this Americanised mutilation of the King's English somewhere? Cor Blimey.. still never mind, I'm magnanimous enough to forgive another's failings occasionally.

                      Thanks for the read, BTW.

                      • Cheeky Missy

Dou dost furgive misspellings "occasionally"???! I is truly grateful for thy generosity. Here in Lincoln's Land we who know how to spell shuddered at your rendering of "unprecedented." Again, thanky for pardoning our discomfort.

                        • Doggerel Dave

Missy: after by no means exhaustive but at the same time exhausting research, I’ve come to the tentative conclusion that there may be an element of truth conveyed in your gentle cajoling. I have as a result taken the extraordinary (for me) step of an appropriate vowel correction. Dost feel thy educative efforts have been justly rewarded?
And when I finally catch up with that bloody spell checker of mine, I’ll be a telling it, a phrase well known on your side of the Pacific Ocean, “You’re fired!”.

                          • Cheeky Missy

Hahaha! Of course! We dearly LOVES to have fun, fun, fun. And thanks thee for joining. By the way, there's a secret to that devil called "spellchecker"...it's ONLY for those who know how to spell. It exists to mock those who do not. Thank you again! And you can burn it up.

                            • Doggerel Dave

You definitely possess a valuable insight into the workings (or not) of that spellchecker. Anyway many thanks for your attention - I've enjoyed the free exchange.

...stay of the news broadcast D>D> thrice a day tops is enough.🙏🏻🕊️

                              • Doggerel Dave

Prepared to admit I'm a bit odd at times, but cannot avoid irritation when it keeps on.....

                                • arqios

We all have out quirks.. I only managed my intake of the news when it started affecting me emotionally. 🙏🏻🕊️

                                  • Doggerel Dave

Does that imply the frequent use of the OFF thingamabob?

                                  • Goldfinch60

                                    Thoughtful words Dave,

                                    Andy

                                    • Doggerel Dave

Irritation more than anything else, Andy

The only thought I have is that the over usage of this word somehow implies that each event is freakish and out of the ordinary, when the truth is........

                                    • NafisaSB

when was it ever unprecedented ? to me it exists from time immemorial.. lol

                                      • Doggerel Dave

Not this lot. These events will continue until they/we/it follow me down the gurgler perhaps soon...or perhaps...

                                        • NafisaSB

Fate has a way of surprising us with the unexpected - so though this lot seems incorrigible, let's hope - and perhaps, perhaps, sooner or later.......

                                          • NafisaSB

have a relaxing and beautiful weekend

                                            • Doggerel Dave

I intend to and your wishes have only increased my resolve. I hope the weekend is the same for you.☺️

                                              • NafisaSB

                                                • Doggerel Dave

                                                  Bon appétit.

                                                  • NafisaSB

                                                    THANKS -
It was a wet but beautiful weekend, and the food in the chinese restaurant in our MCA club was mouth watering as usual, so did enjoy.
have a relaxing and great week ahead

Hey DD, don't worry there's no such thing as Climate Change. He has declared it as nonexistent so that he won't have to deal with it. You know who I mean, Donny Dementia. - Phil A.

                                                    • Doggerel Dave

Oh he's gone done the 'You're Fired' thing all over again, has he? 'Tell you what - get him to order a packet of a thousand cards with them two words printed on 'em. then get him to sign each and every one with that wolloper of a signature he does. Should keep him quiet for a while....

                                                    • Thomas W Case

                                                      Great point.

Unlikel;y to see solutions, but gotta try...
