Where does it go?
Where does time go?
The doctor asked the question,
“Have you ever smoked?”
Yes, I had smoked
Smoked very heavily.
I remember the day,
The day that I stopped,
The day I gave up smoking
In October nineteen eighty-two,
It was October sixteenth in that year,
It was at my nephew’s wedding
And that date has stuck with me.
But then the thought came to me
“How long ago!”
Blimey, it was forty-three years ago,
It seemed a lifetime!
Where does this time go?

For us two, 43 years is like, say, 43 hours, with us being millions of years old. lol. Yes, 1980's stuff appears in antiques shows these days.
Very true Orchi.
For me after many many tries finally gave up 27/12/86 the day I returned to Australia. It took a change of country to achieve success.
At least you have had them (those years). Need I add that if you had continued with those smokes.........
Your good health, Andy.
Well done Dave. Yes If we had stayed smoking we may have lost those years but we are still here and hopefully with many years to come.

Time is a slippery and ephemeral ghost that is hard to grasp. Where does it go indeed
Very true soren, time can be hard to fathom sometimes but we are still here with more time to come.

In the blink of an eye there's more of your past than your future, enjoyed the read
Very true Tobani but I hope I still have a long future to come.
Andy
And may that be
Well written, Andy. Great question. Far more of it in the past than left in the future.
Thank you Jerry.

Andy, I felt this one. For me it was my 21'st birthday, so. 60 years ago. What I remember are the tortuous few weeks that followed. It was well worth it. Thanks for the memory. - Phil A.
Well done Phil. Thank you for your kind words.
