Notice of absence from Tristan Robert Lange
Every once and a while, or more often than one wants to admit, they need a bit of a mental vacay. Right now is that time for me. See you soon! ๐ค๐๐ฏ๏ธ๐ฆโโฌ

Today started out as a happy day,
It was hopeful and it was gay,
So I took a walk in a forest of trees;
It was sunny out with a quiet breeze.
But as I walked some more,
The weather became unsure.
And as the sun turned to cloud,
The thunder grew really loud.
There were bolts of lightning everywhere,
I dodged them here, I dodged them there.
The breeze turned to wind in one short burst,
But the storm was not yet at its worst.
When the rain came it really poured,
I then realized that my life was unsure.
So I ran and ran and rain again,
Until I came to this dead end.
The dead end is where I am now,
For there’s no life and death’s my vow.
Should I jump or should I stay?
Should I die from this evil day?
I don’t know what caused this mess.
It was a waste of time like all the rest.
The day was bad, ‘twas far from warm,
All because of this angered storm.

Travelling through the storm of of life up to that point, how anger when not managed can lead you into some troubled weather, glad the weather got better in the end, enjoyed the read
You read the undercurrents perfectly, my friend. Anger really can become its own weather system, and yeah, sometimes we barely make it out dry. Iโm grateful it resonated, and even more grateful you took the time. Always. Thank you, Tobani. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
You are very welcome
Whether intended or not metaphor comes through strong to me. Life is a storm and there are dead ends it appears amidst threats. Sometimes it seems easier to end life than to face its perils. I love the way you left this question hanging and so the reader too is left hanging on this question. A lovely write for such a young age.
Yes, it was most definitely intentional. I always appreciate your keen eye for metaphor! You're absolutely right about that lingering question... and I'm glad it struck you. Thanks so much for engaging with this one, Soren. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐ Always anticipated and appreciated, my friend!
Absolutely stunning, and loved the audio
Thank you so much, Abdullah! Iโm really glad the audio added something meaningful to the experienceโit means a lot to hear that. I appreciate your kind words and your time. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
Powerful work, my friend.
Thank you so much, Thomas! Much appreciated!
Daffinateley overthinking at age 15, Tristan. With age comes wisdom (or so I'm led to believe - though sometimes I find that hard to accept) and to prove it - you're here!โบ๏ธ
Top notch rhymery, BTW๐
Hahaโguilty as charged, Dave! Overthinking was practically my hobby at 15 (still is, if Iโm honest). Iโll take the wisdom complimentโฆ cautiously. ๐ Grateful for your read and the rhymery nodโit means a lot. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
Still on board and trying, Tristan - that's me! As for you, the overthinking today is, I feel a large element of the poetry you post, and there's no way I would want to knock that!๐
Indeed! Hear hear! ๐
Well, I am glad you survived!
๐คฃ Me too! ๐ Thanks for reading, mate!
I like your writing .. I think that sometimes life can feel so horrible and painful ( and go through awful things .. ( I have )
That it can feel like bad weather .. and we donโt see things get better ( even tho they might be going to )
I like the rhyming in this nice flow to your words
I like the idea of relating weather to emotions or life
Thank you so much, my dear friend. You captured the heart of it...how pain can cloud everything, even when better weather might be on the way. Iโm truly sorry youโve been through such stormsโฆand Iโm honored this piece resonated with you. Grateful for your thoughtful read and reflections. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
Wow, my 15-year old self wrote mostly like a 12-year old inebriated on Kool Aid, man! I was scratching my head attempting to reconstruct the lost bits of my early poems just a few hours ago. ๐๏ธ๐๐ป
LOL! Iโm honored, brother. Trust me, not all my 15-year-old scribbles held upโthis one just got lucky in the storm. ๐ Actually, for fun, I might just post one of the more...ahem...embarrassing ones. If I do that, at least you'll be on to it! LOL! Iโd love to see what your Kool Aid verses look like now though. Bet thereโs gold in those fragments. Always a pleasure, man. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
Lol, Iโm still diggingโฆ much of my juvenalia has perished but there may be a couple of needles ๐ชก in the proverbial haystack. Not promising anything but excited by this embarrassment potentialed throwback. ๐๐ป๐
Fair enough! LOL! Yeah, I've lost much of mine too! Most of my embarrassing ones deal with love. LOL! We shall see, I am feeling very tempted! LOL!
Excited! ๐คฉ
I feel a film reel unwinding in fits and starts, like an old engine running steadily. Different, striking images keep me from resting, and I start the next line again. Thank you so much for sharing. Best regards.
You are most welcome. And thank you for your gracious patience for this response as I catch up from last week. Much appreciated, my friend. Thank you for your time and your thoughts! I am glad the poem resonated...and a film reel?...rock on! I love cinema and I am glad this came out that way. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
Excellent write Tristan
Thank you Tony! ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
You're welcome
I jumped off a cliff (did I?) then rebounded up again. Someone had put a giant bouncy castle at the foot of the cliff! LOL.
Ohh, eat some spinach - you'll feel better. ๐
LOL! But you said I would feel better. ๐คฎ๐คฃ
vivid imagery. pretty much sums up my inner turmoil when it comes to writing poetry lol. a fave!!
Thank you, my friend! Please forgive my delay. Catching up from having no internet connection. I am truly glad that this poem resonated. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
In the midst of the maelstrom the fleeing poet meets his end in a mess of anger - the storm within himself. A profound passage of poetry, has a swiftness to it, enhancing the protagonist flight from danger and that anger that still rages on. Excellent! Very well done, Tristan.
Fond regards,
Tony.
Why, thank you so much, my friend! I am truly glad the poem delivered! Hope all is well. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
The song that goes: "should I stay or should I go..." is playing in my head... (The Clash, 1982) lol... now that I listened to the Soundcloud clip. The voice and the texture of vocal expression brings an original rendition and individuality to the poem. Again, poem-envy arises.... lol.... gobsmacked at a 15-year old poet executing this!
On this end, still needing a voice to read out my poetry, should that be possible. e.g. https://mypoeticside.com/show-poem-203973
Was that your voice? Ooh! I love it. You do not need any other voice than your own, imho! I don't like my voice either. I am not sure who does! Anywho. Thank you so much dear friend. I am humbled by your kind and encouraging words. Truly. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
Indeed, that was I. Who wouldn't want their poetry read by the likes of Richard Harris or Richard Burton or Morgan Freeman!? And yes, poem-envy is a thing. ๐คช
LOL! Oh, I know. I have had it over yours, my friend! Do I feel a "P's of Envy" poem going on in the works? ๐คช LOL! But for real, I would die to have God...I mean Morgan Freeman, or the likes of any of those to read my poems! ๐คฃ
Wouldn't that be a gas! The closest I got was a celeb (from a non-Hollywood country) follow my poetry and even exchange comments and such. They said it was their getaway from their hectic work life. Found that quite flattering and heart-warming in the same thought.
what a wonderful start.. btw i also started composing when i was 13, and some of the poems shared today are from those bygone days [especially those that seem naive and repose so much faith in the goodness of mankind]
keep up the good work
Thank you, my dear friend. Awesome to know! A good age to start writing, I think! Lots going on at that age and it proved to be a life saver for me. Will do, my friend, as I am sure you will too! Thank you so much for your time and thoughts! Always appreciated! ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
thanks for your positive feedback too, as always
have a great weekend
You are most welcome! I truly enjoy your work. You too, my friend!
How. wonderful to hear your voice!
Thank you, Joan! Much appreciated, my friend. Thanks for the fave too. ๐ฉ๏ธ๐๐๐
