E Naughton

You rise above the darkness

Don’t even ask my name.

I never caught yours either,

Still, I think I know your game.

I’ve met you more than once or twice,

And ran to dodge the pain.

But maybe now I’ll face you,

Might even catch your name.

For if I sit and listen,

And let you have your say,

You might not haunt me like before,

You’d more likely fade than stay.

Clever and fun this poem teases the reader to confront and take more lightly fear and evil. Well done

I like this, asking the reader to have a different approach when facing fears or things we don't like, enjoyed the read
