Roasted Turkey
What a wonderful day it was.
Just to be crisping in the sun
Stomach stuffed, lightly based.
30°, layout five hours straight
When it was time to go home.
The English Turkey was well done.

A good fun tale about the stuffed Turkey as a metaphor.Well done made me laugh
Thank you
I got images with this one. Everyone looks for the fattest turkey to roast. (Where a roast is a dressing down of someone in celebration, usually with gathered group) Sounds like an American Thanksgiving to me. Well done Tobani
Thank you

Thank you, have a wonderful weekend
Most welcome
Roast, baby, roast. I see pictures of nutters in the UK and other northern hemisphere places wandering around without a hat in 40 degree plus heat.
A salutary warning.
Hooray!!!, someone got it, thank you, we are idiots when it comes to the sun, you can always spot an Englishman abroad.
A day at the beach, my friend? Exactly how I feel out in the sun. This American Turkey is right there with you! LOL!
Hope you don't fry like the English are determined to do, have a wonderful weekend
Oh. With much English, Irish, German, some Scottish, and Scandinavian...all I do is fry! LOL! I quite literally tan red! 🤣🥵
You're downright hilarious! I figured twas tongue-in-cheek. Nothing like a proper roasting, eh? Delightful. Charmingly rendered with excellent imagery and a deliciously haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing. [By the way, "Turkey" was my parents' pet name for yours truly.]
That's a very unusual pet name, thank you for your kind words, have a wonderful weekend
A great synonym.

So, Noel Coward was correct, "Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun..." A hot and crispy verse - hahaha!
All the best,
Tony.

That was good. Made me chuckle in this freak heatwave.
