Once More With Feeling…

Doggerel Dave

Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
I do return sometimes... occasionally...AI out! AI out!

“Copilot uses AI. Check for mistakes. Conversations are used to train AI and Copilot can learn about your interests.” – Copilot page on my PC.

You can’t say you haven’t been told:

And so if I may be so bold

To ask if you think this a plot -

How many mistakes can you spot?

The posts are here; Disturbingly

The action develops you see;

There’s no time to always adore -

So please bring your critical faculties to the fore.

Dave you and I are fighting a tidal wave of technology and are about to be swept out to sea and ground up in the debris. I got your point Ted Kaczynski was ahead of his time when in his manifesto said the technology would be the end of the human race. His tactics were a bit radical as the Unabomber.

    • Doggerel Dave

Yep. Utilise properly or pull the plug. Stop dancing, get serious, start locally. And here I'm very local.

    • orchidee

I'm not human anyway, so I dunno how I get on here. lol.

      • Doggerel Dave

Acceptancd for you orchi is possibly the better way....

Not being a techy I googled Copilot, very interesting. I see your point. I feel the same way about AI, as with all technology it posesses the capacity for good or bad. I've seen the wonders of AI in medicine and for people with disabilities, as well as fears for it's use to misinform and control. Even leading figures in AI, and academics warn of the potential for misuse. This will require vigilence and a healthy dose of skepticism. We should all be on gard and hope that good judgement will prevail. Good write my friend!

Thanks for your response, Bella I feel especially warmed by that since it is you. The summary you give re the merits and potential misuse of AI is about where I'm at too.
Also your requirement for vigilance and a healthy dose of skepticism Is for me definitely pointing in right direction. I expect you know of the old advice ’begin locally’ if you want change…well that’s where I’m going here as this and my immediately previous two pins should show. I need to know who I’m talking to and why. Please – It’s all there waiting for the application of your healthy doses.

          • Bella Shepard

May our exchanges be filled with healthy doses! Take very good care, my friend.

Rock on, Dave! The call to sharpen the ol’ critical faculties is for friggin’ real. AI beware: the Doggrel Dave lens is watching. 😄 Great job, my friend. 🌹👏

            • Doggerel Dave

Thanks for that, Tristan. Have you connected the dots, or rather my two linked immediately previous pins, and does it make sense to you?

              • Tristan Robert Lange

Your question made me go back and re-read only to realize I never even left you a comment on Oracle. My bad. To put it plainly, my internet was practically non-existent (with some spotty hotspot availability 😅). Now remedied! But yes, I've connected the dots, my friend. The breadcrumb trail is cheeky, clever, and just a bit unnerving (in the best way, of course). Between Oracle, Fraternity, and now this one, you've managed to build a playful, yet pointed triptych about connection, code, and the complications of being “known” in the modern world. And, like with any new technology, it's not the tech that does good or goes awry...rather people's use of it. Or, at least that is what I got! Anywho, hopefully I didn't connect some rogue dots! LOL!🌹👏

                • Doggerel Dave

Thanks Tristan. Apologies for the tardy acknowledgement. Energy levels not very high at the moment, so my visits and contributions are likely to be scanty for a while.
Take care of yourself, and keep the fire burning...

                  • Tristan Robert Lange

No worries, Dave. Sorry to hear that. Get some rest and I will be sure to keep the torch lit, my friend! Please take care of yourself too, my friend. ❤️

I still think outside the box Dave and AI cannot find me there.

I badly need sleep and fully intended to be in bed by this quasi late hour of 2100, however, you've confused me. I detest the rather devilish AI, nor but fight with the ones that beset me, and yes, it's the trendiest topic, but I'm still confused. Excellently rendered with lovely imagery and a deeply haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Damn n dubble damnation .. tis like the proverbial sword of Damocles hanging over our heads just waiting for the nod .. I used to be for it but now I'm not so sure .. its hard to believe anything these days .. but sure as hell I get ya drift & to the hilt squire ..

                    • Doggerel Dave

Thanks , Neville - She 's here and busy....
